Subscribe to Comments

Added the Subscribe to Comments functionality, even for you lurkers who don’t comment. I’ve never actually subscribed to a comment thread myself, but I could see it being useful, so I’m giving it a try here. I have no clue how you opt out once the thread gets too active or long.

One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.

It looks like it uses cookies to remember that you subscribed to a thread, and after you’ve subscribed there’s a “manage your subscriptions” link under the row of emoticons at the bottom of the comment form. Clicking that link will allow you to unsubscribe from the thread or change the e-mail address that you’re using for notifications. This is a good feature, and the subscription manager is something that I haven’t seen before in a non-forum-based CMS. Cool stuff.

hooray! there’s a link in any email you receive that lets you unsubscribe or manage your subscriptions. apparently subscriptions are linked to your wordpress.com account, so there’s probably something in your profile preferences there to manage subscriptions as well.
