Summary:

IRL, Kelb gets beat up by Gilgamesh, while in the Tower Neeba gets beat up by Cilgamesh. Neeba does alright with the help of Succubus and Kai, but once Might the Fool is ordered to distract Neeba, Cilgamesh is able to take everyone out. Jil’s party arrives on the scene right as Cilgamesh runs Neeba through the heart. Of course Jil charges in, but with Fatina low on MP, they don’t do very well. Right before Cilgamesh can kill Jil, however, Henaro angrily remembers how Cilgamesh rejected her and orders Might the Fool to attack Cilgamesh.

Cilgamesh easily takes out Might the Fool, but it gives Jil time to somehow climb up the wall and cut Kaaya down. With the help of Kaaya’s buffs, Jil is able to hold his own for a while and even land a few blows on Cilgamesh. Then, at the critical moment, Uragon backstabs Cilgamesh for destroying Uragon’s dreams of reenacting Chobits. As Cilgamesh and Kai disappear in a stream of sparkles and Gilgamesh has a heart attack, Henaro grabs the Rod for Jil… only to be one-shotted by Neeba. Neeba then ninjas the Rod again and joins the two Towers into a gigantic phallic cannon.

Reaction:

Man, this episode was uncomfortably ugly, as if the art staff had to rush all the action sequences. Henaro got pretty screwed this episode, and I can’t believe Neeba killed her with a single non-magical arrow. Henaro and Acra really shoulda pumped more points into getting a larger HP pool. After all, look at Neeba; he got stabbed in the heart and still had enough life to steal the loot. The end with Neeba was so predictable, and I wonder if we will ever get a flashback to what happened to Druaga to turn him into a monster. I’m not even sure I know who Neeba is going to fire the cannon at, considering we have never actually seen Ishtar.

Meanwhile, Jil is still so n00by at raid management as he once more forgot to change the loot rules from Free For All. This is even lamer than Heat Body being a channeled buff. In other lameness, I cannot believe that Gremica spent the entire episode lost in the Tower. Even at the end, she was stuck in some random location fighting trash mobs. No wonder Neeba doesn’t listen to her anymore! I was intrigued that the Rod was not BoP, and I noticed that in ToD, backstab ignores armor (and can be done with a Greatsword).

Cilgamesh is like a beast, destroying the raid party eventhough they beat the Guardian twice for a lot of xp. LOL WOMEN AND CHILDREN(FSN Gil). At least Gil and Kai got a happy ending, no longer being under the curse of Druaga and the tower.

Darn ninja looter Neeba again. Also Gonzo really disappointed with the horrible art and animation for this ep. Why save budget now and outsource to some cheap animation studio.

Also final ep of Sword of Uruk later today in Japan. I hope it ends good, but I’m also thinking they might pull another Aegis of Uruk ending and make everyone wait months for Season 3 since there’s a lot of plot points to cover in 1 ep.

Haha, no Gates of Babylon, although Cilgamesh did switch swords every chance he got (so strange…). The plot twist with the tower being a cannon really makes me fear (like you) that there could be another season. Damn, I wanted everyone to just beat up Neeba and do a victory Roper Dance, but we still don’t even know WTF Neeba’s problem is. Is he really just that mad at fate?

I was really pissed that Gonzo let a major battle in the penultimate episode go down the animation crapper. I would rather have had some crappy animation in the middle episodes than watch everyone running around with funny faces and oddly proportioned arms during the most extensive battle this season.

It’s remarkable that Jil got flushed down the toilet again at the end, so I am not sure how he is going to get back up in time to even talk to Neeba.

BTW, wasn’t Henaro supposed to get a bathing scene this episode? Did this happen? If so, I must have missed it.

And that’s why she’s probably going to kill him in this last episode. Just saying. :P

Villain Reason Decay much? Frankly, we STILL aren’t clear on why Neeba’s such a big douche, or if he even has a VALID reason for being so.
