Summary:
Everyone goes to talk to Leopard, and Kazane provides a bit of background. Half a century ago, the Shishidou Conglomerate funded the development of AI-integrated Brain Colonies to allow for greater efficiency. Everything went really well until the population reached 1 million, and then Nerval went nuts. Nerval was the prototype for all of the other brain colonies, and he trapped all the colony residents, causing an intense war. During this Nerval Uprising, Leopard was instrumental in getting the rebels out, and the whole thing was hushed up. Now, Kazane wants to make the Holy Land of Enigma as a base of operations, but Honoka will not let them enter.
Everyone chills out in the victory onsen, but the peace is interrupted when a Crocodilias Leopardus grabs the cooling system to use as a A/C in its home. Since Leopard lost the map, the gang ends up bartering with a headless suit of armor in the library (trading in a variety of heads) for the map. The little baby CL look like baby Kagutsuchi from Mai Hime, but before the big CL can eat Akiha, it gets attacked by a green Leoparda Octopoda. As the cooling unit is returned, Itsuki vows to help Leopard clean his room in order to earn his trust and the two ninjas are angsting at a mall that is suddenly buzz saw-ed by a stealthed colony.
Reaction:
This was more of an information dump episode, and even the fanservice was uneventful. I did like Kazane talking smack to Leopard and vacuuming up Leopard’s collection of junk. Poor Itsuki is never going to get her questions answered, and everyone still thinks her story about her parents being abducted in the huge Terra Abduction is a load of craziness.
However, it wasn’t all bad, and there were some cool and funny moments. I liked when Itsuki and UL went Ghostbusters on the headless librarian, and I was surprised that it really was a ghost. It was a pretty cool team attack (complete with noise-canceling headphones), even if it ended up being ineffective and unnecessary. Also, Leopard’s taxonomy was amusing, although predictable. I wonder if we will see other Sunrise moments as the series continues.

no mention of the chainsaw?
I mentioned it!
not enough fanservice this ep even through it is a onsen ep. They better make it up in the beach ep. Sakura stole the show with her spiderman impression and Akhia really need to learn not to feed the strange monsters.
Was it only me who thought that the headless ghost kind of looked like King Gilgamesh?
Also I wonder if they really said ’50′ years or ’500′ years. They said it a bit too fast for me in Japanese to pick it up but 50 years doesn’t seem like much time considering no one else has any idea what’s going on and surely some of those older police detectives are over 50 years old.
I think they said that the uprisings took place 50 years prior to the time of this anime series.
Sakura reminds me of those Splicers from Bioshock, only cuter.
Kakeru? ohoh…I like this
