Tower of Druaga: Sword of Uruk 09

Summary:

Fatina describes to Jil how Henaro was a spy under Amina the whole time, and knocked everyone out. Coopa tried to tank for Melt and was hurt badly, but Henaro brought her along because she knew that Cilgamesh would need a caddy to go along with the stolen set of golf clubs. With Kaaya in tow, Henaro has Sword of Blood and Tear of Ice align all the doors to warp to Cilgamesh’s place. Meanwhile, Succubus suppresses Kai’s invisibility spell, and Neeba is able to capture Kai, lead Kai around on a leash, and warp to the end. Gremica and Uragon happen upon Jil, and Gremica tells Jil about how the Coffin Knights are made from refurbished Dark Armor that the Sumar Empire used. With Gremica and Might the Fool’s help, everyone else warps to the end as well.

Back in the real world, Nakia helps Ethana get geared up to lead her 300 special guard soldiers along with 500 climbers and nobles. Unfortunately, they are up against 2,300 troops and when Cilgamesh shows Gilgamesh how Kaaya has been captured thanks to Amina’s plan, Gilgamesh angrily slaughters Amina, allowing Cilgamesh to take over his mind. Over the last 20 years, Cilgamesh has regained power and taken over Gilgamesh (darkside points!), and now he no longer needs the illusion of the Mythical Tower. Kaaya relays Ishtar’s message (“I’m disappointed”) to Cilgamesh, as all the landscape in the Mythical Tower disappears.

Reaction:

Defense rules in the Druaga universe, and I was excited to see Ethana’s armor save her arm. That’s what happens when you wear real armor instead of just a metal demi-bra. I was intrigued when Kaaya thought she could stab Cilgamesh with a tanto, but her hit rating wasn’t even good enough to touch him, let alone get past his damage mitigation. Healer melee damage is just a joke. Speaking of which, I loved how Cilgamesh acted like he’d go on a date with Henaro and when she got excited, he broke her heart. Thanks for the golf clubs, baby!

At least Melt continues to redeem himself by raging about Coopa and calling her family. We still have no idea what the “Legendary Succubus” can do, but perhaps Neeba has some serious firepower now. Jil, Gremica, and Uragon form a mini raid party as well, but hot, shirtless, Cilgamesh doesn’t seem too worried. Young Gilgamesh beat the Coffin Knights back when they were the super-dorky Red Knight, Blue Knight, Mirror Knight, and Hyper Knight, so what else is there to fear?

Haha, even you left out poor lonely Henaro… There was some unexpected Ethana fanservice in this episode as well.

There’s a bath scene in every episode. I guess they decided to do a little more with Ethana this time. And damn shadow-Gil, is he very bored? :P
