I just upgraded the parent theme from Thematic 0.8.1 to 0.9 and all my modifications held.
Thematic version 0.9 represents a major change in Thematic.
I didn’t have to do anything, other than replace the Thematic folder. Child themes rock! This upgrade was everything I’d hoped it’d be (i.e. unnoticeable) when I did the redesign. I love not having to hack core files anymore. Now I just need one-click parent-theme upgrades please =3.
Oh wait, haha, I lied. The drastic CSS changes didn’t immediately show up I guess until I refreshed a few times. Gonna overwrite a few of the default styles when I get a chance and reattempt an upgrade. The modifications to the child files did hold, but I had to use the version 0.8.1 default CSS styles (for now). Basically, I am running (as parent) Thematic 0.9, but it is wearing Thematic 0.8.1′s face. Yeah, that’s not creepy at all… Well, anything to avoid having to recode anything.

Replace “default” with “classic” in your Child Theme style.css and you’ll be set with only one teeny change.
I think that did the trick! I can’t tell what the teeny change is, but the suspense is killing me
. Thanks for the tip and also for including a reworked version of the classic Thematic style.
…only one loli?
*sadcopter* or should I say: sad-COP-ter? HARHARHARHAR… sad-police-ter?… errr, sad-sexual-preda-ter?… *goes back to stalking*

I have a weakness to click on any links pertaining to loli, and curse you for exploiting it!
My hand on the left.
Stripey mind tricks noooooo
…too…cute…can’t…stop…myself to…PRESS!
-_-;; I pressed…
Damn, and here I was hoping you were going to change your theme to have lolis all over the site. How disappointing.
Are you also able to include stuff like Google Adsense script and the one php line for LMB Comment tags under
LoliChild themes?Yup, here’s how I did it for Thematic. The gist of it is that you copy your comments.php file from the parent into the child folder and make the changes to the child folder’s copy of comments.php instead.
I use the Who Sees Ads plugin to insert my ads as widgets though, so that requires no hacking.
Ah, I see. Thanks for yet another pro tip!
