Summary:

The phone call is interrupted by Haruka; she’s come to remind Touya to come to Saturday re-registration at the university. Back on the phone, Rina offers Touya a job as a gopher so that he can spend 3 days a week with Yuki. Yuki then calls Touya to tell him that she has off this Saturday and so Touya bails on Haruka and asks her to go in his stead. When Touya shows up the next day, he is surprised to find that Eiji made him Rina’s new manager. Rina then puts into motion an elaborate plot to pretend to throw a fit (behind closed doors) at Touya in order for Touya and Yuki to sneak away and spend some alone time on the rooftop.

There’s some awkwardness as Yuki decides that they should have their Saturday date at their old high school, Hotarugasaki Academy. Unfortunately, Yayoi listens in on the conversation and sabotages their plan by forcing Yuki to work on Saturday. Eiji also has Touya fired so that he cannot pay his rent, and Touya’s dad is unwilling to give any money. Even the mysterious high schooler Mizuki Mana, who wants to pay double the going tutor rate specifically for Touya, refuses to meet with him. Exasperated, Touya goes to chill at Echoes only to see Rina stomp in and pull Eiji out from hiding in a broom closet. Rina chases after the fleeing Eiji and promises to make things up to Touya as she runs out the door.

Reaction:

From Nagase Frank’s little nod to Rina, I figure that Eiji stopped by Echoes to hide in the broom closet and Rina was aware that the closet is one of Eiji’s favorite hiding spots. Eiji and Frank seem to have some strange musical connection that will probably be explained later. I loved watching Touya get owned this episode, and I can’t believe that Mana would want Touya as a tutor. This will probably tie into how Touya and Yuki were going to go back to HS on their date, since Mana is a student at their old HS.

I noticed that Touya and Yuki lie to each other a lot, and while they are little white lies that cover up pleasant surprises, I have a feeling that later lies won’t be so innocent. Yayoi was awesome in outflanking Rina and keeping her job, and it’s only a matter of time before Yayoi is managing both Rina and Yuki. After that, Yayoi will probably head out into space and try to connect with the Vajra Queen to take over the universe. As for Haruka… that girl is a crazy stalker.
