Summary:
No one reset the instance, so it’s an easy trek to the Shrine of Sky and Druaga respawns without his barrier (must be Rez Sickness). Jil whips out his new whip sword and goes right for Druaga’s neck. Suddenly Jil enters a bright white vision with Kai’s adult form. Kai’s power has returned for a short while and she tells Jil that her true body was destroyed but her soul lives on. When Gilgamesh killed Druaga, the King was cursed with immortality and is getting evil as he tires of living. Also, there is trouble stirring between Babylim and Sumar, the two kingdoms that Gilgamesh had united to form Uruk.
Up at the top of the Mythical tower is another Gilgamesh (henceforth Cilgamesh), and killing Cilgamesh is the key to ending the curse. Kaaya is indeed the daughter granddaughter of Kai and Gilgamesh and she is venturing up to kill Cilgamesh. Kai also mentions that going to the Mythical Tower is a one-way trip. The vision ends and as Druaga dies another Blue Key drops. Naturally, Jil gets key-jacked by an archer again as Gremica, child of Balaleya, kidnaps Kai and Hennaro in her quest to revive the Sumar Empire. Jil’s party chases them and Uragon’s group (with Melt and Coopa) follows everyone in.
Reaction:
Does Druaga give a lot of EXP? He seems pretty easy to farm now and the key is not soulbound, but he doesn’t drop any loot. Anyway, this was a great episode since a lot of questions finally got answered. Even Ethana got the spoilers about Gilgamesh’s long life. Jil learned a little about Kaaya’s double life as Princess/Priestess Ishara, and I figure she will have to get stabbed to kill Cilgamesh (per the vision and the cross-shaped abbey she studied at). Am I watching Tower of Druaga or Casshern Sins? And doesn’t this make King Gilgamesh a lich?
The fight against Druaga went fairly smoothly, but I noticed that Jil let his squishies get ambushed. I couldn’t tell what Henaro’s buffs did, and she forgot to buff Utu. It’s cute that the Melt redemption project began with Melt trying to get Coopa out of the Golden Knight’s clutches. I wonder when we will learn about Succubus, now that we have gotten to learn more about Kai. We have yet to hear if Succubus was once an important person in the original fight against Druaga. As for Kai, I was a little surprised at how silly she was, but looking back on how Kaaya acted, I guess it isn’t that unexpected.

Kaaya is actually Gil and Kai’s granddaugther. I think it’s mentioned somewhere on Gonzo’s Druaga website.
Your observation is right, now you know where Kaaya gets her playful traits from. Kai is like a loli, bishoujo and MILF all rolled into 1 person.
Fake Druaga/Guardian/Mid Boss is probably good XP to farm. Too bad they didn’t bring the entire raid along(Oro, Uru, the other 3 girls which names escapes me) along to power level fast.
Also Gremica tries to ARROWED Jil from behind just like Neeba did last season, but this time Jil is experienced and a tanking god, blocks it.
I can’t wait for Utu to payback Neeba for arrowing him twice last season, that backstabber and ninja looter deserves it.
OH NO GILF!!!
When they catch Neeba, they can make him do the Roper Dance.
BTW, I kinda get the feeling like the prediction that Kai showed Jil was not a prediction at all. Since Kai’s original body is dead, it would make sense if this was actually a flashback that she was showing Jil… I could be wrong though, seeing as the girl in the scene doesn’t have all the jewels that Kai likes to wear.
Hurry up to Chinatown Jil, where knockoff Gilgamesh awaits you!
I think its not the past because in the prediction you can see Neeba lying dead on the ground.
From a person who plays D&D, a lich would be someone who traps there own soul in items to protect it and give him or her immortality. So technically, yes he is a lich, but not in the conventional sense. BTW, for those who do play D&D, Lich’s SUCK!!!! I hate those buggers. You want to really cry, take on a demi-lich, a floating head of doom..
In that case, Gilgamesh is a Lich King
.
I did notice that as well, which is a good way to show progress.
I think we’re about overdue for a silly gimmick episode, like the arcade console one.
I feel sorry for Henaro, she’s just kidnapped by one group after another.
I want to know about Succubus as well. Why is she there. Actually I do remember that she used to be the wife of Druaga or something like that. She revealed that to Neeba in one of the final episodes of the first season. So she’s probably the priestess of evil. They’re doing some kind of normal light vs. darkness thing.
Coopa was much more fun when she was with Jil’s party. The Golden Knights can keep Melt, but give Coopa back!
The one disappointing thing about this season is that it took… FOUR EPISODES for the story to actually progress beyond where it was last season. They could have easily put all of the revealed plot elements into one episode, or into future ones (especially since there will likely be some filler fun episodes to come).
Coopa needs her glasses back!
kinda late but the Succubus was the Witch form the PS2 Tower of Druaga game. She kidnapped Kai right before the wedding and was kill by Gil.
