Summary:
Kanako is excited to learn about the Rosary with Fumi, but Mariya informs Kanako that a cross pendant is not the same as rosary beads. Mariya then lends Kanako her deceased grandmother’s rosary beads, knowing that this will throw Kanako into nervousness and malaise for the rest of the day. The alexandrite gem alone is worth over ¥15 million because of its chatoyancy (though a faceted cut would have been worth more) and strong red/green color change. Mariya also gives Kanako a new bag, although the bag already has a mysterious tentacled resident inside.
Meanwhile, Honoka and her two friends continue to bully Kanako for being so friendly with Ryuuken. Honoka pretends to throw Mariya’s rosary beads out the window, forcing Kanako to search fruitlessly for hours in the rain. Fortunately, Kanako has backup. The tentacle bag monster foils the whole dried bonito imported from Tosa plot, Nanami explains she is dating Kanako so the girls won’t think Kanako is going after Ryuuken’s love, and Ryuuken vows to be Kanako’s personal bodyguard to stop any further bullying.
Reaction:
While a few things didn’t make any sense, this was a cute and entertaining episode. It’s a shame that all that alaria was wasted in a kelp geyser, but at least the jellied beef broth and whole bonito were consumed. I almost wish I had some rich people bullying me with delicious food. It was funny how Honoka immediately thought to throw the neko-mimi headband out the window and Kanako actually put it on.
I’m predicting that Kanako will assemble a harem of her own, through various misunderstandings. I feel like Nanami will think she is only doing this to protect Kanako but she will secretly fall in love with Kanako anyway. It’s too bad there wasn’t more Mariya in this episode, but I did like Honoka and her terrible schemes for revenge. On the flip side, I could do with less Dorm Leader, as she kinda annoys me.

I think you’re right. Kanako’s gonna end up being the hottest thing in town and Mariya is just gonna get madder and madder. In a sense, you could argue Kanako has “chatoyancy”!
What!? Less Dorm Leader!? I can see why you would find her annoying, but that voice of hers is just too cool to hate. I even find myself rewinding just to hear her say “desu yo~” again.
I just assumed that the things that didn’t make any sense were there for that reason alone. The series has been basically nonsensical so far, but that’s why it’s good.
Good to see you have along with others taken a mild liking to Kanako. With any luck we will be having a yuri harem with us for some time…Though all good things must end at least in my heart they will live on forever.
Assuming that Kanako will be the primary protagonist as the yuri harem lead, I doubt Mariya will figure too prominently as Kanako is one year his senior and won’t be running into the the sadistic trap often during a school day.
Haha, I love when she picked up the nekko-mimi headband and put it on, did a cute nyaa and then realized she was a total idiot. I think this show is really pretty funny, I’m hoping will get more Mariya though as he’s always good for a laugh.
Dorm Leader’s monologue at the beginning was pretty boring, but the start of Kanako’s harem at the end of the episode made up for it.
