It seems that Naruto has surpassed Minato in some ways by completing the rasenshuriken. Naruto’s “new” rasenshuriken can be thrown a reasonable distance and the spinning blades expand as the rasenshuriken reaches its target. No one knows how the heck this works, but at least it no longer hurts Naruto to use the rasenshuriken (I think).
Fukasaku and Shima are like sports announcers
As cool as this is theoretically, in practice Naruto has some kinks to work out. The rasenshuriken only takes out the weakest Realm, Human Realm, and it uses up most of Naruto’s sage chakra. Maybe next time he should set the attack up a little better so that he can hit more people with it. If only Shikamaru was around…
I thought they had headsets in the Naruto Universe
Hell and God Realm are unhurt, and Human Realm was able to save Animal Realm. Animal Realm hurls a large bird at Naruto for some reason and gets separated from the other two. This gives Fukasaku the idea to try to split up the Realms to sever the connection of the Rinnegan.

Gamabunta gets both Naruto and Animal Realm in his pitch black mouth, and Naruto uses the last of his sage chakra to take out Animal Realm. This wipes out all the summons and only Hell and God Realm remain.

At first I was a little disappointed that Naruto’s “new” technique was just an old technique that had been perfected, but I guess this makes sense. Naruto isn’t really the type to be thinking up revolutionary new techniques at the drop of a hat, which is why almost all of his moves involve shadow clones and copious amounts of rasengan. I bet if Naruto had filled Fukasaku in on the details of the rasenshuriken they could have immobilized more of the Realms before throwing the rasenshuriken. I guess Naruto does not usually have to worry about running out of chakra, and so these finer points escape him sometimes.
Pain is still a huge mystery. I figure the real Pain is actually Nagato. It’s too bad Naruto did not have very good information on Pain, because that would have helped with battle planning. Only two Realms are left but Hell Realm can heal/resurrect the remaining Realms (although the ability appears to be on cooldown). The order should probably look something like:
- Animal Realm: She is the most annoying and neutralizes the frog summons with her own summons.
- Hungry Ghost Realm: This allows Naruto to use rasengan attacks without wasting them.
- Hell Realm: This Realm is weak and his ability is on cooldown, but killing him ensures no more resurrections.
- Human Realm: The weakest of the Realms in terms of combat ability.
- Demon Realm: A straightforward and fairly scrubby Realm.
- God Realm: Clearly the most powerful, but at least his best move is still on cooldown.
Rather than telling all the villagers to stay away, Naruto should have worked out a signal to call in backup. While Naruto took out one more Realm than Jiraiya, our new Sage master has used up all his best moves. I figure the frogs can take out Hell Realm, but what of God Realm? I also can’t help but wonder if this would even lure the real Pain out of hiding.

Naruto’s “new” technique was a little disappointing, since it used up like half of his chakra in one move that only managed to take out one Realm. I also don’t get why Animal Realm summon that bird. It didn’t seem to fit with what was happening.
Naruto seems to be out of chakra now, so I’m guessing that eventually he’ll have to draw on the demon fox’s chakra and perhaps go into semi-beast form… I kind of doubt Naruto can win by Sage techniques alone.
Didn’t Konan already confirmed that Pain is really Nagato in chapter 429 right before he performed Shinra Tensei?
I’ve come to realize that Naruto is in a way like Microsoft. They both never gets it right the first time lol
You know, I could totally see a storyline where Naruto seems to defeat all 6 Realms and then the real Pain comes out and one shots Naruto. Then Naruto’s friends or Sasuke or something have to rescue Naruto before they extract Kyuubi. That or Tobi/Madara would suddenly betray Akatsuki.
Sasuke’s confrontation with Naruto is inevitable, and so is Madara’s betrayal, so yeah your guess seems pretty plausible, although I’m hoping that Naruto will eventually come through and defeat Pain.
