Summary:

Because of Ricardo’s testimony, Atsuko is suspected of receiving money from Monstro Preto. Meanwhile, reporter Daniela Carniero, Jr. is working on a special investigation of Circo de Chocolate, which he suspects is really Circo de Sell-Kids-4-olate. Although his camerawoman Zoey and everyone else doubt him, it turns out that his suspicions are correct. When Hatchin meets the other Michiko, Michiko Menezes (henceforth “Wichiko”), she never suspects that Wichiko and ringleader Nuno are constantly selling and receiving new circus children.

In fact, when Michiko arrives to chat with Hatchin, Hatchin tells her to get lost because Wichiko is way better. However, Michiko overhears Daniela trying to get his scoop and jumps onto Wichiko’s hot air balloon to save Hatchin. Hatchin then realizes that Michiko is way better than Wichiko and when Michiko gets tranquilized and dropped into the sea, Hatchin jumps in with her and makes sure the two of them make it back to shore. Now that the beef is squashed (literally) between Michiko and Hatchin, Rita says goodbye to Hatchin and Daniela gets his scoop.

Reaction:

You think you have a smooth and profitable child-selling organization when suddenly some random lady hijacks your hot air balloon and then the hot air balloon gets struck by lightning, causing you to fall into the sea and get arrested. Fat people just can’t win, especially in Highlander-esque situations. This was an amusing episode, with Hatchin getting punched by a kangaroo and Daniela getting constantly tranquilized. Michiko running over the corned beef was pretty awesome, too (year of the ox is coming up). I was amazed that Michiko managed to take two darts, but I don’t understand how Rita escaped.

In spite of all the silliness, this episode did shed some light on Michiko and Hatchin. Hatchin’s little impression of Hiroshi (or was it supposed to be Michiko?) was intriguing, especially since she called herself “Hatchin” while doing the impression. Michiko even admitted to crying this time when she got told off by Hatchin. The end was sweet too, although if Michiko had just let go of the rope sooner, she would have landed safely and been able to continue guilt tripping Hatchin big time.
