This is just like the tortoise and the hare
The new number 8, Dietrich, is not that fast, but apparently she is quite the marathon runner. Even worse, she refuses to lie to the Organization, even though Helen and Deneve just saved her and her scrubby teammates. Instead, Dietrich stalks Helen and Deneve to avoid going back to report to the organization. It seems the Southern Lands have changed since 7 years ago, as half the towns are gone and mysterious Demons have appeared. Helen, however, figures the “Demons” are really just Isley.
Afterwards, let's dry our hair over a bonfire
However, Helen and Deneve aren’t fools. They know that Isley is hella powerful, so they have to rely on stealth. Between Isley’s long bangs and a pair of cloaks, the disguise is perfect.
He can't see us over hair
And by “perfect” I mean “surprisingly crappy.” Hopefully that blood won’t stain.
I knew we should have brought the cardboard boxes!
Moreover, it seems like both Helen and Dietrich were right. While Helen tries to defend her hometown, Dietrich unveils yet another awesome disguise.
That demon will never find me here
You really have to marvel at Miria’s patience over these last 7 years. Scoping out Isley was not the smartest idea, so now Helen and Deneve are probably going to get tossed around for the next three chapters until someone miraculously saves them. I’m curious to see what Dietrich’s Demons are, as it seems odd for a Claymore (who is used to fighting Awakened Ones) to be worried about demons.
