Year 5!!!!!

Kabitzin on January 1, 2009 · in Site News

Like, ZOMG Sea Slugs! Anime Blog is now half a decade old. Take a free second to ponder that thought. Ender had a busy year and pretty much fell off the face of the Earth after summer due to work and classes every day. Kungfucius made a comeback this year with some steady blogging of Soul Eater. I cut back on many of the features and concentrated mostly on straight up episodic blogging. I know everyone loves features and editorials, but episodic posts are hella fast. I’ve gotten the process down to where I can consistently watch, cap, and blog an episode in about 45 minutes.

In lieu of any updates, I’ll just make this a state of the union type post. We’re still going strong and I still love what I do. Even when times got busy or series got crappy we kept on posting, and I personally have yet to feel any hint of burnout. I’m very proud of the fact that SS!AB has never gone on a real hiatus, and it’s pretty amazing to see comments from readers who have been with us for many many years. Thanks to all the readers and fellow bloggers out there who make this process so much fun, and I look forward to cranking out more groan-worthy puns for years to come.

One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.

Wow. Five years. That’s a major accomplishment, guys! It’s good to hear that there’s no burnout here when so many other bloggers have been mentioning. Keep truckin’! :D

(PS. I hope I’m not being too anal, but I think Mr. Maurer deserves credit for his beautiful artwork.)

Dear god…I’ve been reading this blog for five years? I’m not quite sure how to feel about this. ;P

In that drawing Snake reminds me of Dirty Harry from Futakoi Alternative. Love it.

Congratulations! Does this mean you’re now the oldest anime blog? 5 years for any site is an amazing milestone.

Congratulations on making it for the past five years. Man that picture reminds me of how much I still have to unlock for SSBB. vacation is simply too short these days.

omg EPIC MILESTONE!! Glad to know that burnout hasn’t hit you, and I doubt it will any time soon with your skillz. I mean, blogging an episode for only 45 minutes?! I second Stripey, you need to conduct tutorials, or well, lessons on how to be witty lol.

All the best to you guys!! MOAR POWAH!

Congrats on keeping the blog up and alive for this long. In fact, you’ve been blogging longer than I’ve even been watching anime I think.

Congratulations! You already know that your blog is awesome, but the fact that it’s five years young makes it even more awesome! May the good times last for years to come. :)

Thanks everyone! My cat heard the threat of more puns and delayed me by chewing through the wires of my headset, so now I have no sound on my computer (till the new headset arrives). It’s ironic that this post boasts about no hiatuses and then I go out of town and then have computer problems (sorta).
