Summary:
Kangetsu Shidou, Ao, and Kotoha form Team Bear and try to locate the source of the demonic power by driving around aimlessly in Shidou’s tiny car. The going is rough because the blobby shadows all jaywalk, but fortunately Yae jumps on the hood and clears a path. They finally decide to just pull over and have Ao use Satellite while stationary, and Kotoha summons a huge artillery gun on a railcar. Kotoha’s aim is true and when Enjin tries to shift the mortar shell away, Yuuhi corrects the shell’s path and ensures that Tokyo Tower will be closed for quite some time. Elsewhere, Akina and Kyousuke form Team Giraffe and tangle with Shinozuka for a while before retreating.
While all that’s going on, Jiroku-san retrieves Hime’s grandmother’s dragon lance tip and heads to the hospital to tell Hime about how her grandmother was also weak (but at least she was popular). Hime realizes that she can have the rest of the YLCO do all the heavy lifting and the faith of the townspeople makes the dragon lance tip glow with more rainbow power. Hime starts running to the nearest Nana-Gou, and fortunately for her Enjin got tired of being shelled on Tokyo Tower and has flown to the same Nana-Gou to force it to flower.
Reaction:
It’s amazing how this show manages to be so cliche and yet so scatterbrained at the same time. The scene changes were frantic, but completely nonsensical. Why in the world was Enjin at Tokyo Tower? Why would Shidou bother to go pick up Touka? Why can’t Hime beat up an uber-gecko, but a bunch of scrubs with bats and shovels can? In fact, this whole story makes no sense. If the Nana-Gou are the sole connectors between the human and youkai worlds, shouldn’t stray youkai be unable to leave the town, rather than unable to enter the town? Furthermore, tuning doesn’t seem to be that great when deported youkai can return fairly easily.
I noticed that we finally got a look at Hime’s bad neck scar. Hime’s hospital stay was completely retarded considering that all Juri did was hook Hime up to an IV (with no sedative drip either) and then body-slam and headbutt the hell out of Hime. Even the weak rainbow power of Hime’s refurbished Dragon Lance tip is not enough to get me excited about next episode, but at least the pain will soon be over.

So this thing’s officially one big Wallbanger then?
Looking back the whole series has kinda sucked, but this one was especially sucky and headache inducing.
By the sounds of it, you left out “increasingly incoherent”…
Not Wallbanger but more like pure FAIL. I was interested in the manga before the anime but if the manga is remotely this bad then forget it.
The manga is several orders of magnitude better than the anime. I have no idea how the animators let this series get this bad.
