Summary:

The gang tries to figure out if Daitetsu would be the seme or the uke in his yaoi relationship with Jin. It seems that Takako has been brushing up on her terminology since the trip to the maid cafe, and now she even knows phrases that Meguru doesn’t know. Things get even more serious when Tsugumi reveals that Jin has always been very interested in Daitetsu’s muscular body. Tsugumi’s shock ends up inadvertently starting a rumor that Jin is a homosexual.

Tsugumi goes to apologize to Jin, and catches a glimpse of Jin in the shower. It’s nothing she hasn’t seen before, but Jin’s growth has been quite healthy through the years. Nagi and Zange arrive and hear more embarrassing stories of Jin’s childhood. Although Jin is peeved to learn that Tsugumi started a yaoi rumor about him, he gets served homemade bentos by Zange and Tsugumi. Instead of dispelling the rumor, however, this display just makes everyone think that Jin swings both ways and will get with anyone with a heartbeat.

Reaction:

What was the deal with Author-Man fighting that meido-squirrel? I enoyed the Tonal Curve, Anti-Alias, and Automatic Level Correction attacks, although it seems odd that a mangaka would use any of these techniques. Tsugumi really stepped up this episode, and it was weird seeing how often Tsugumi ogled baby-Jin’s goods. I also loved that Jin used to be a delinquent and nearly drowned while trying to do a Shoryuken over a swamp. Tsugumi really needs to have more confidence in herself; I don’t see why she should be so intimdated by Zange’s body.

There’s still no resolution to Nagi vs. Daitetsu, but it’s no big deal. Everyone else did their part to make this episode funny. I liked Zange’s persistence in demanding more embarrassing Jin stories, and Nagi was great in referring to Tsugumi’s surprise attack on Jin in the shower. I also believe that Takako’s ability to power up her otaku abilities intimidates Meguru, and Takako may very well be an otaku tensai.
