We now get to take a look at the struggles of Chrona trying to continue her life as a student in Shibusen. With Maka and everyone being very accepting and trying to get her to try new things such as basketball and attend social events, Chrona’s life looked to be on the upswing. Unfortunately, Medusa makes her visit back to Death City and runs into Chrona in an alley, and it’s clear that she still has some strong mental control over her daughter as she commands Chrona to go look for the secret vault at Shibusen. Although Mary manages to accidentally catch Chrona searching for the vault and foil Medusa’s plans, Mary now becomes the seed to drive Stein into insanity as Chrona manages to slip a snake into Mary’s drink when Mary invites Chrona over to Stein’s lab for some counsuling. With Mary hanging around Stein with a snake in her body, Medusa now attempts to drive Stein even more insane, and we see that Chrona can’t catch any breaks 
She doesn’t want to deceive her new found friends, but Medusa is her mother, albeit an evil one…
And just when things were looking bad, guess who’s coming to town in the next episode….

I just hope Chrona to break off Medusa and Mary-sensei to be ok. If not, then Medusa just should die in a very painful and disgusting kind. ;P
Well, Medusa already got chopped in half and then had her head cleaved before her soul was shattered and then she had to live as a snake and then a dog…
The visitor in the next episode should tell his awesome stories to Medusa about how to be awesome.
Personally I’m convinced that critter’s a Kishin. I mean… sealed away (sorta)? Check. Power up the wazoo? Check. Drives people insane? Check…
When you put it that way, it all kinda makes sense. He’s been around forever… an ancient evil that will not die.

;_; *sniff* Poor Chrona! I can relate with her so much! I felt a tiny bit of warmth when everyone was being friendly to her, but we all know its for selfish intent (they don’t want to get their asses kicked by her). Why, its just like when I was little, and everyone was nice to me just to copy my homework
You know, I can’t get enough of that Excalibur song that Maka (or perhaps Patty?) sang in the preview. It really is annoying, but now I can’t stop singing it! (or attempting to at least)
On the topic of music, the new OP is bitchin’! I wish there were a way to remove the subs so we can just see the OP raw. Yea, I can always just download it raw, but I’m too lazy. Oh, and another thing I hate about Tadashi’s subs are no chapters! HD with no chaps? They need to get with the times!

…and to round it off occasionally acts all cutesy in it, if memory serves. Creepy. It’s not for nuthin’ she’s been tagged as the Magnificent Bastard and Knight Of Cerebus of the series over at TVTropes. As they put it, “Whenever Medusa shows up in Soul Eater, things stop being whacky and people start dying and going insane.”

This is a good example of what I like about this series, actually (I’m not normally much into these shounen serials) – impressive and well-written characters. (Doesn’t hurt that the pacing of the fights is WAY above average of course…)
