I Need To Stop Discriminating Against Bikes

by Kabitzin on October 16, 2008 in Other Series

I’m suddenly feeling like it’s Blassreiter all over again. When I first watched Blassreiter, I was totally cheesed out by the Demoniac + motorcycle action. Once I was able to get over my bias, however, I was treated to a very enjoyable (and melodramatic) series. Then I watched Ga-Rei Zero and I was totally cheesed out by the horrible bike-fu. Fortunately, all those poor bastards were put out of their misery, and I have reason to suspect that the bike-fu will not reappear (though I still wonder about the retarded flaming rollasaurs).

The second episode of Ga-Rei inspired me to go check out the manga. While the anime now makes a lot less sense to me, the manga was pretty awesome. Ga-Rei has a great mix of humor (those extra chapters are so funny), action, and even fanservice. Both Kensuke and Kagura are great, and the side characters are top-notch. The manga confused me about the timeline of the anime, however.

The thing about anime is that sometimes they tend to add things or go ahead when not needed. I mean vampire knight, they went totaly ahead with the second season, and even tho it’s the same plot they change it around with the actual events of the manga.Sorry.

It’s sad when anime does that, especially if your a huge fan of the manga. Ga-rei I haven’t watched the first full episode *only like 5 minutes of it* so I cannot tell you the differences of the manga and anime since the series is totally new to me. But yah, sorry*

As for Shiro,

As for Kyouko, most of the characters shown so far have been full adults; perhaps in the manga they were forced to do some underaged recruiting to replace their losses?

Bikes cheesed me out of Melody of Oblivion… well that and production values worse than a 60s cartoon. Then one day I heard that it was a decent show, but by then all links were gone.

BIKES HAVE FEELINGS TOO! I dropped Blassreiter in favor of Druaga, which was a bad idea, though I don’t see myself actually going back now that there’s so many other good stuff this season.

A long time ago, a bunch of bikes got together and beat me up with bike-fu… and now I hate them!

I hate bikes. I fell and scraped my knee twice in a row. Bikes and blissmo aren’t compatible.

While the anime managed to make the series more exciting, more WTF-ish, and just intriguing (albeit confusing), I also want to see my Kensuke x Kagura rabu rabu scenes  Bah, if the anime screws up I’ll just forget it ever existed :|

:| …I kind of liked the rollasaurs, myself…
…although that owed a lot to the WTFROTFLMAO factor. It’s not like the average animu monstrosity makes much sense anyway, but these at least were delightfully absurd. (The deadpan action-story badassery of the fighting with them just added an extra serving of the surreal…)

The funny thing is that being a rollasaur actually had a purpose, like when the rollasaur was rolling so fast that one guy wasn’t able to snipe it.

Imagine a mega-bike with such rollasaurs as wheels! xD
