Summary:

The Abandoned Building Exploration club is not attracting any interest, so they decide to make a cool video. They have no funds, but Sayaka steps in in order to have some quality time with Tsutomu. They head up to an abandoned onsen in Sawajiri Village. With Yoshie to do all the chores, Sayaka gets to show her geeky astronomy side, and shows everyone the Cygnus constellation.

Things are going well until Capella visits Sayaka and tells Ryunka to awaken. In a flashback we see that Capella grabbed the vial of Ryunka goo and dumped it into Sakaya’s nearly-dead body and that is how Ryunka awakened. Glowing green, Ryunka blasts Capella away and then destroys much of Sawajiri Village before Birdy can figure out what’s going on. Elsewhere, Gomez and Shymalan ponder the awakening of Ryunka, and Shymalan bets that he can handle Ryunka.

Reaction:

Blah, this was a fairly boring episode. Only two things happened the whole time: we saw young Shymalan looking like the only survivor of a bad accident/explosion in the record book, and we learned how Sayaka attained the Ryunka. I’m sure that the Cygnus swan constellation will end up being important somehow, and it was odd that they used the creepy song from last episode so much this episode.

Other than that, this was a boring slice of life episode with all of Tsutomu’s annoying friends. The footprints on the walls and ceiling were amusing (I noticed them before the Tsutomu pointed them out), but don’t really seem that relevant. The Ryunka power is very odd in how it gave victims a strange rainbow glow before de-saturating their color and vaporizing them (but leaving some pieces untouched).
