Summary:
Tamaki has to shamefully tell her dead mom about the loss to SHINAIgirl, and Miyako lies to get out of kendo practice. Morale has really dropped, and Tamaki has reverted to how she was prior to joining the club. As if things couldn’t get any worse, Toraji learns that parents are calling for the suspension of the kendo club for a year, because of the reckless actions of Toyama and Iwasa at the arcade. This surprises everyone, because usually games are the scapegoat whenever youngsters get rowdy.
Toraji decides to let Kirino and Sayako decide if Toraji should lie and say that the delinquents dropped out of the club (since neither has been to practice or a tournament in months), or if he should tell the truth. In other emo news, Dan confronts Miyako about skipping practice, but when she learns that Dan landed a strike on Satori she laments that he cannot understand the plight of the less talented. Meanwhile, Tamaki’s father suggests that Tamaki take a break from kendo, and the next day Kirino is stunned to find a letter of resignation and Tamaki’s doll charm.
Reaction:
Wow, Miyako took that loss to Carrie hard. What’s the big deal about Dan landing a strike on Satori? Miyako was able to land a blow too, if I remember correctly. It is so deliciously ironic that the popular beautiful girl is telling the dorky little guy how hard life can be. I also loved the part where Dan asked Toraji if having a gigantic acorn head was a disadvantage.
Meanwhile, as much as Tamaki’s dad tries to be a good parent, his advice is usually kinda bad. He just took the one release that Tamaki had, and cut her off from all her friends! It’s tough seeing Tamaki so vulnerable now, although my dark side snickered when Yuuji assumed the Jodan in practice. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do if you want to win.

That letter was obviously a fake planted by some prankster (T.Amet strikes again)! Given Saya’s erraticness, it would go: ‘Kirino, let me fly you to the moon. Your hot humpy bunny, Saya ♥’
