Bamboo Blade 22

Summary:

It’s time for the 55th Kanto Tournament, and a lot more schools are participating. The Muroe team is pumped up because Kirino has made them some super cute sentai dolls and everyone figures that Tamaki is a guaranteed win. Toraji’s team hopes to advance to the final and face Kenzaburo’s team. In the first bout against Eishin HS, Miyako gets her chance to face Carrie, but is still no match for the Engrish master. Still, Muroe easily advances to the third round to face Rin’s Shuugyoku High team.

Rin has some strange argument about Bravers standing for justice and the pressure of knowing that if you are defeated you don’t stand for justice. She also uses the Ascension Stance (Jodan) to psych Tamaki out. However, what it comes down to is Rin’s superior reach and strength as Rin easily switches out of Jodan for a fast one-handed headstrike and then later slips a Tsuki thrust to headstrike Tamaki a second time. Because Miyako and Sayako already lost, this drops Muroe out of the running for the team championship.

Reaction:

Wow, this was a great episode, even if we all saw the end coming for Tamaki. Tamaki’s head was definitely getting too big, which made it a lot easier for Rin to land numerous headshots. I can’t believe Tamaki tried to go for the Tsuki again, with absolutely no justification! Meanwhile, Miyako continues to be an anchor on the team, and I giggled when Carrie repeated her “Forever” trashtalk. Still Miyako is winning the war, and I grimaced to see poor Carrie looking sadly/jealously at Miyako’s prize of a boyfriend.

I can’t wait to see the fallout carry to the individual matches, and I wonder why Iwasa and Toyama got screen time again to act pissy in the arcade. At least Satori and Kirino redeemed themselves in the team matches. It was funny how everyone assumed Carrie could only fight with two shinai, even though it was obvious that Carrie was just screwing around in the last fight. Reimi’s preview was awesome, so I’m really excited for the next episode.

Ahaha, I’m so glad someone got it! But unless you went orz, I have yet to match the mighty punny powers of the Master himself…

Ahhh, the student has surpassed the master! Planning to usurp the throne, eh? Then you’d be in command of both Battlestars!

On second though, Kabitzin has probably implemented a zillion back doors by now….
