More Dots

From Hinano:

So yea that’s my list of those who have left the anime blogging world. It’s sad to see sometimes a blogger you’ve known for a while decides to quit the hobby but I am glad to see there’s still some blogs still going strong that were around when I joined this whole shabang. Here’s to longevity of anime blogs!

That’s good times right there, remembering the bloggers you came up with. Impz had a history post too, and I can’t help but wonder if a timeline or wiki-history could be constructed one day.

One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.

If a timeline is made, it should be divided into two eras: the Daijoubu Era (DE) and before the Daijoubu Era (BDE) HA HA HA. :)

Actually, I’m sure Owen would want it to be the Cruel Angel’s Theses Era (CATE) or the ABC Era, lol. Maybe the Tripeman era? And I won’t even mention the possibility of the dango era (oops, I just did!) lol

Looking back always fills me with a certain “guilt”… like why I didn’t involve myself in the blogosphere early on, especially during that Japan trip I had, where I was really detached from the blog and the blogosphere. This caused me to miss a whole lot, like these insightful posts (and also a couple of RIUVA “events”) which could’ve taught me so much, and allowed me to become part of the community (I call this my blogging “Twilight Stage”).

But then again, it’s not too late to teach myself animeblogging history 101 and catch up, be more involved =3

There’s this whole generation of anime bloggers I’m totally disappointed I missed out on by about a year. I was reading them back then, but didn’t really get too involved beyond a few random comments. Actually, I think it’s probably your original generation, Kabitzin. It’s aptly brought together on the good-bye post of the brilliant david.anime. Look at all those links; if your name’s on that list and you’re still blogging, you’re a certified legend in my book. Honestly, that 04/05 generation was special.

I worry about how bloggers that have been a while think about us newcomers. I’m just hitting a year on my blog while others are still here after many years. I want to make a mark, but I do wonder if the old guard will let me do so. :P

This reminds me of those conversations I like to have about online communities being real, but having the other factor called RL that always interferes. I wouldn’t say I’m the most knowledgable about AB history, but I do know some stuff since I find stalking the blogsphere more fun than even watching anime.

I’m new in the anime blogsphere (less than a week).
I still don’t know much about the anime blogsphere and about the bloggers..
And I missed a lot of the good things before I started reading anime blogs..
So a timeline is definitely needed..
