More Tag In RSS

by Kabitzin on September 30, 2007 in Blogging Tips,Site News

I don’t use the <!--more--> that often, but I just recently noticed that it will cause posts to cut off in the RSS feed (I believe this is on purpose). While the more tag is very useful for formatting how your page looks, it kinda defeats the purpose of offering a full feed. Fortunately, the Full Text Feed plugin will allow you to use the <!--more--> while still offering truly full feeds. I believe the plugin simply strips the <!--more--> tag out of the feed code, but there is probably some black magic involved as well.

I’ve enabled the Full Text Feed plugin for the site, so the RSS feed should once more be full.

Nice. I was just thinking about this the other day. Nice to have the full article in RSS but not on the home page.
