Things I’d Like To See

I don’t think anyone has done this yet, but wouldn’t an anime video blog be neat? Like short clips where you could watch an absurd scene and then cut to snarky commentary… I would watch it.

Couldn’t you just include a link to a YouTube video? If you want a quicker response, you could have the video on your own server but then you would need the capacity and bandwidth.

Sounds like an interesting idea. People would like to see the face/appearance of the ones that are commenting on shows. :P

Why don’t you try it?

I lack the video editing skillz and hardware, plus I like writing more than talking. But I bet someone could make this into a really nice production.

It’s a pretty interesting idea, but it’s rather technically hard to do because you need some good skills with video editing and stuff.

Well, maybe a recorded comment over screenshots might work too, lol.

I’d like to see something a la Best Week Ever or The Soup.

I had a similar idea a few years back but laziness got the better of me then ^^;;

It does sound like a good idea but time consuming if anything else. Can’t wait to see who may actually implement the idea.

Lol I probably would do this on my blog (since I do everything else it seems lol) except my computer is poo (c’mon apple! release the next OS so I can buy a new kickass computer!) and my editing skills are, well, non-existant too. (Not being able to afford video editing software also doesn’t help).

Oh, and thanks for the note about the plug-in. That is assuming the plug-in will ever show up in my plug-ins list lol.

I’ve been talking with a few friends who cosplay in hopes they could do anime video reviews. Nothing has been made yet but I think it’s a good idea. :)

There’s actually several video anime bloggers out there who do exactly what you just described.

The problem is, most of these guys are fat, boring otaku who, while they may have a pretty good vocabulary and writing style online, are really annoying to listen to in real life. Plus the video is often low quality or poorly edited.

For the most part my take on video blogging in general, and video anime blogging especially, is a big fat DO NOT WANT.

Tried it, didn’t like it, stuck with my traditional blogs. :P

Yeah, I know what you mean. It might be best as a team effort, since there are few really good speakers who understand anime and also have mad video editing skills all at once.

Just having a pretty girl as the host would probably secure a lot of viewers, lol.

Orion just called you a fat, boring otaku. I think you should use your cat as host. Oh wait, that’s really a fat otaku, isn’t it?

I’ve always wanted to do one of these, but I’m no good in front of a camera *blush* blush*… and I don’t have a camera -_-. When I think of anime video blogs, I’m always reminded of Anime TV. Its not that bad, but its way too cheesy! I mean, I love my cheese, but this just makes us anime fans look bad (or to be more specific, fat, boring otaku XD). I wish there were an anime video blog which balances funny and intellectual content.

(btw, I’ve only seen epi 1 and 6 of animetv, so if the rest of their videos are good, please tell me)
