A cease-fire is called for the Silver Pentecost holiday, and Louise is miffed that they are taking care of the peasants that Albion’s army abandoned. She blabs about how great it is to be a noble, and Saito gets angry that she favors war over celebration. When Henrietta proposes a recon mission to ensure that Albion does not break the truce, Henrietta hits up Julio and his sweet dragon, Azuro, while Saito is left to fix his plane (recovered by Tristein, but harder to fix without Colbert). Now the lovebirds are really angry at each other, so Derflinger goes into wingman mode, convincing Louise to dress up as a little kitty and offer to be Saito’s familiar for a day.

While in town, Saito run into Siesta (who turns out to be Scarron’s niece, and Jessica’s cousin). He also runs into Guiche who has received an impressive medal of honor. The whole group hangs out with Saito, and ends up witnessing Louise in her silly getup. Guiche also tells a story of how he thought he was a goner, but he was saved by a mysterious imp. Saito gets mad at Guiche for valuing honor over self-preservation, and Louise stands up for Guiche. As everyone is in a huff, Siesta lures Saito in to give him a sleeping potion to use on Louise, in case Louise orders him to do anything stupid. At the same time, half of Tristein’s army starts going crazy, due to the wacky Ring of Andvari liquid that Governor Sheffield put into the town’s water supply. The PM of Malaysia is doomed (Obey my dog)!

Although I question the introduction of so many mysteries this late in the game, this episode was considerably better than most of the Agnes-centric episodes. Seeing some of the lovable characters from season 1 really added a lot, and the jokes were pretty good this time. Derflinger made a great wingman, and I laughed when he started going in and out of his sheath while he taught Louise about how to make a family. Scarron was also hiliarious when he revealed his family’s incredible bloodline limit.

Louise really annoyed me this time, but I suppose it is not hard to understand why she is so naive. Still, Louise is just another loser clinging to an undeserved reason for superiority. It also looks like they are building Saito up for a really manly showdown, and perhaps some tender moments with Louise. I wonder what Saito is planning now that he has realized that Henrietta is his main rival for Louise’s affections. The smart thing to do would be to set Henrietta with some hot guy, so that Henrietta spends all her time with her new boyfriend and ditches out on her gal pals.

This ep was great. It had all the ingredients that made season 1 enjoyable. I guess I’m kinder to Louise in that she’s unlike Guiche whose concept of noble pride is both arrogant and foolish. Louise has broken down hers to loyalty for Henrietta and I’m sure it’s not merely because she’s royalty.

And yeah I LOLed at Derflinger’s graphic demonstration too XD

I totally forgot about Derflinger’s gestures until just now…LOL that was great. Anyways, Saito will get through to Louise. Love power! woot~ I wonder how that sleeping potion is going to be put into play…cause they wouldn’t just introduce it for no reason. :S

Just rewatched the first few episodes of season 1. Jeez, Saito has changed quite a bit! He isn’t as wimpish as he used to be. Or maybe its Louise? When they joined the war, their personality started changing abit? Or is it just me?
Prefer the new Saito though ^^

This Episode was great and it did hit home that Louise and Saito do have something special for each other.
