Dr. Nogi has been acting weird ever since his partner Dr. Yoshizumi disappeared, and wouldn’t you know it but Dr. Yoshizumi is the one known as the Rabbi. It turns out they have been stealing body parts from autopsies for Dr. Yoshizumi’s experiments. Dr. Yoshizumi wants the secret of Xu Fu, because Xu Fu’s Dragon Head has been living for hundreds of years, according to rumor. We get some flashbacks of Toho with a bloody knife, and Shito covered in blood, as Toho mentions a doll that cannot be broken. We also learn that Shito was the son of a zombie, and was in his mother’s belly for 7 years. As he’s flashing back, GolemGirl combs his hair, and eventually his right hand rots off.

Elsewhere, the rescue team decides to cheat by visiting a Shinigami. Because Shinigami know the locations of all illegal zombies, this should be a quick way to find Shito. Unfortunately, when they get to Koume, she reveals that Zarame (Japanese granulated brown sugar) is now stuck in a cute plushie form. Only Koume and Michiru can understand his angry squeeks, and while he’s very cute, he is very weak. Apparently while he was reaping a human, he let his guard done, and he had his core stolen. We learn that a Shinigami’s body is materialized through the circulation of astral around a powerful energy source called the core. Zarame is unable to lead them to Shito, but Toho stops by to give them the location. Toho wanted to grab Shito himself, but he’s got an urgent meeting, so he outsources the work to Chika, Michiru, and Asou. As they close in on Dr. Yoshizumi, it seems that the doctor has been misled about the nature of his contract. However, Carmella of the Akashic Record Reform Committee (ARRC), a branch of the Wheel of Fate Organization (WFO Management Office), is willing to extend his contract just a little bit longer.

The development with Zarame further reinforces my belief that Shiba is still around, although it looks like the two are not in cahoots after all. In fact, if Shiba stole Zarame’s core, it’s possible that Shiba is now extremely powerful. Zarame’s chibi form is pretty funny, and it was hilarious watching Michiru glomp him. Too bad he ended up being completely useless in the episode.

The zombies this time were really weak, as Chika was able to beat them up with just a bokken. Hell, even Michiru was able to beat up some zombies with Chika’s bokken. There were a lot of really interesting mysteries brought up this episode, and for once this is a really bad thing; it seems this series is only 11 episodes long, and I don’t think anything will get resolved in just one episode.

I could have sworn that you were going to say something about them finally revealing half of the casts’ names. Oh, and nothing gets resolved by the next episode. I would spoiler that, but I’m pretty sure that it’s dead obvious.

Michiru x Zarame stabbing her in the head? Moe! ^.<

I would have, but what does it even matter if the next episode is the last? =(
