Just one month after I finally upgraded to WP 2.2.2, I see this notice on the Dashboard:
2.2.3 is a security and bug-fix release for the 2.2 series. Since this is a security release, we suggest you upgrade immediately. Two of the fixes are high priority.
Considering how bad the last update was, and how WP 2.3 is scheduled to ship on September 24th, I didn’t really feel like updating. With the new support for native tags, and a number of redirect, category, and javascript changes, I’m expecting WP 2.3 to break more stuff than Awakened-Legs-Clare in a china shop. However, not too many files were changed in v2.2.3, so I ended up downloading the latest version, and just overwriting those files that had been modified since v2.2.2.
So far, nothing seems different, and the upgrade did not fix any of the AJAX problems in the Dashboard. Specifically, I still cannot delete links or categories without turning javascript off in my browser (lame…), and neither the plugin nor the .htaccess remedies fixed the problem. Since all attempts to delete categories and blogroll links throw a 404 error, I thought it might be a problem with redirects, but there are no hard-coded .htaccess 301 redirects, and even with all redirect plugins disabled, blogroll/category deletion does not work properly.

Yeah, it’s such a pain. I’ve just upgrade HNSO to 2.2.3 – luckily for me, my K2 theme still seems ok. Maybe because it’s Beta Two R167…
I haven’t dared to upgrade Stripey’s blog yet because I think he’s using the same K2 0.95 RC1. Which version of K2 was Sea Slugs on?
I believe it was 0.95, though I don’t know what release candidate it was. Maybe it will work, haha, who knows. However, it broke so bad when I did it that the page wouldn’t even display…
At least it went smoother than last time? :S
