Zero no Tsukaima 2 07

Henrietta decides to join Germania in declaring war on Albion. The plan is to minimize destruction and avoid a coup d’état, and the initial quick victories bolster Henrietta’s popularity. Henrietta decides to join the front lines herself, once Albion’s supply line is cut off. Meanwhile, Agnes gets permission to research the Massacre of Danguteal in the secret royal documents (hidden beneath the girls’ bathroom).

Julio, Saito, and Louise offer to go with Agnes, and they grab Eleonore to pick the magical lock. Colbert tries to stop them but ends up joining the group, and Siesta also joins up to show off the sailor fuku that Saito bought for her. Then of course hijinks occur, and the name of the Captain in charge of the Special Task Force is missing from the records. However, all signs point to the Special Task Force being tricked into thinking that they were eliminating plague carriers, and Colbert being the one who originally rescued Agnes from the fires.

Eh, this was a pretty boring episode, but I’m sure that the note about how people can use flying magic when solo will come up later. It’s too bad that Agnes is so obsessed with revenge, considering she already killed the real villain, but oh well. I wonder if Osman was the one who tore out the name. Agnes getting beat up by the falling books was awesome in a Bourne Ultimatum kinda way. I wonder where Siesta heard that vicious rumor about Agnes liking women, though! I thought the army policy was don’t ask, don’t tell.

My favorite part of this episode was when Saito was able to recognize the acoustic signature of Siesta’s heaving chest. I wonder where that vendor got the school uniform from, and I really wonder how Louise was able to compare her flat chest to an airport runway. How would she know what that is? I also wonder as to why Cattleya has all those animals in her room. There were so many questions raised this episode, but at least it made sense why Agnes couldn’t recognize the back of Colbert’s head *snicker*. Finally, it kinda worries me that there is a huge chance that Louise will end up as a pink-haired version of Eleonore: strict, flat, violent, and unappealing.

I really wonder who came up with this school girl uniform stuff in Japan anyway. The big-eyes anime style is apparently based on some American dolls which were popular in the 60s or so. Is it possible that there were some Donald Duck fanatics in the school ministry which decided about this uniform style?

“But Sir, Donald does not wear any trousers at all”!
“I know, so what?”
“We cannot let school girls run around in shirts only!”
“Who said that shit?”
“Sir..”
“Ok, so what about this new mini skirt fashion?”
“That’s too kinky Sir!”
“Perfect! Order a million, immediately!”

Maybe someone should add this important information to the Wikipedia article. Perhaps there could be a new poll too “Do you know what cap 2 is about? [abort/retry/fail]“.

I thought that about the school uniform but realized that if a Zero could enter their universe then a school uniform could as well.

I think that Louise’s two sisters are sorta half-examples of what she can become when she grows up. I highly doubt it for Cattleya – but hey, you never know. I’m starting to dislike Siesta now, she’s always trying to come between Saito and Louise…
