Zero no Tsukaima 2 06

From Agnes’ report, it’s clear that Richemont is a subversive element, but Agnes’ testimonial will not be enough to arrest a high-ranking official. To get rid of him, Henrietta hatches an absurd plot to get Richemont to reveal himself as a traitor. While Agnes continues to tail Richemont and gather evidence, Henrietta secretly escapes the castle while leaking news that she was kidnapped. Henrietta then satisfies her cravings for man, by taking Saito as her bodyguard and fake boyfriend in order to avoid rescuers.

Believing that Henrietta is missing, Richemont and his accomplice from Albion decide now is the time to attempt a coup d’état. Unfortunately, Henriettta overhears it all, and declares Richemont a traitor. When Richemont tries to escape through a trap door, Agnes is waiting for him. Instead of arresting him, Agnes takes revenge for the Massacre of Danguteal, and runs Richemont through with her sword.

Henrietta was an impressive force this episode, and it’s clear that she is made for politics. What the queen wants, the queen gets! Still in mourning about the whole Prince of Wales thing, Henrietta returns to her glory days by donning some too-tight school clothes (even though they are at The Imps of Niwaku tavern, which is full of cosplaying girls). Then she goes and gets her white shirt wet, and drapes Saito all over her. Even though she’s friends with Louise, Henrietta has no problem with snuggling with Saito for warmth, and even going topless to make out with him. Hey, it’s all part of the mission.

The theater plot was kinda silly. A trap door on the stage? Gee, that is completely unpredictable. Obviously Agnes thought so too, as she was not only waiting for Richemont, but she even had on her Fire Resistance gear (that point blank fire spell did nothing to her). So Henrietta just had her main troublemaker executed and had plenty of secret cuddle time with her best friend’s man. I like this new trashy and manipulative Henrietta!

This brief glimpse of the trashier side of ZnT has increased my craving for novel translations ten fold.

The girls of ZnT are starting to make Aphrodite’s shrine priestesses look virginal XD I love this new and emancipated Henrietta. With loli, the meido and the oujou vying for Saito, I can’t imagine why he’d want to go back to Tokyo now.

The problem I have with Saito isn’t so much that he is playing the field, but rather that when he tells Louise how much he loves her, he seems to mean it. If he was just going after anyone, I’d say play on player, but he is so devoted to Louise and even gets jealous when any guy looks her way. I don’t think that’s fair considering how often he actively ogles every other girl with a heartbeat.

Also, I think Henrietta was just trying to have some fun with Saito. I just doubt she really feels anything for him, and thinks of him completely as a loyal follower and a friend that she can get away with all the flirting. If some kind princely version of Julio were to pop up, I bet Henrietta would lose interest in Saito in a heartbeat.

Where are Kirche and Tabitha this season??? Kirche was my favorite from last season!

Saito has shown this double standard in season 1 too with respect to his ecchi ways. I find it inconsistent that he would peek at undergarments in class but resist Kirche’s delicious offer in ep 4 when Siesta is at stake no less. Poor characterisation or it’s in him to prefer dessert over the main dish, I’m still debating XD

As for Henrietta, I’m of the opinion she’s currently on the rebound and is slated to develop full-blown feelings for Saito eventually. (ZnT’s going harem after all :P ) But I find it fascinating that Tristani values allows for one claim your best friend’s property w/o a morsel of guilt. A royal prerogative? :)

I believe this is what they call “annexation“.

I think saito is major player and should use that favor from the princess to get some sweet action.
