Because of some fun shopping where Michiru and Koyomi pick up some butterfly maid costumes, Michiru misses her job interview. However, Michiru spots the Shoplifter from before sporting a black ring, and they follow him to a meeting. It’s all the loser fans of the Butterfly’s virtual murder site, and they have a little meeting to fanboy about how great the Butterfly is. From the awkward conversation, it looks like Shoplifter is not Butterfly; rather Shoplifter did a little copycat murder of his own on the last girl. Unfortunately, Michiru chooses that moment to lecture the losers about the importance of human life, and so the losers all try to kill Michiru and Koyomi.
In the nick of time, Yomi comes out and stomps the scum, and then Chika, Shito, and Shiba arrive to provide backup. They then chase down Shoplifter and kill him, rescuing his latest victim. Shiba offers to take the girl to the hospital, but the girl later shows up at the Z-Loan Office as a zombie. Shiba has sent them a message that he is the real Butterfly, and the one who is creating all the zombies.
The revelation that Shiba is the Butterfly is not at all surprising, and only Chika was shocked. Everyone else realized how silly it was for Shiba to be able to interpret all those retarded clues, and it was awfully convenient for Michiru to have never seen him with her glasses off. In spite of that, this was an awesome episode, with plenty of loser stomping. I was cheering on Yomi and Michiru as they were able to defend themselves effectively (the losers seemed to think they would just magically be awesome with knives). Yomi was especially awesome, though she was able to come out this time without fondling Michiru first. Michiru was useful too, picking Shoplifter out of a thick crowd, and defending herself from the fat loser.
Even Otsu got a little blue flame hand action. There was some unexpected comedy with Shito being a total n00b at knowing forum jargon. Then there was the weirdness of Shito slowing everyone because he had to keep pulling his socks up. I’d be pissed too if my partner had to keep fixing his socks.
