While 6 girls are missing from school, Michiru stays in her room and feels sorry for herself. She wonders how she is going to die, and doesn’t feel like helping Chika and Shito hunt for zombies. However, their visit reminds her that she’ll be helping her friends stay safe from flesh-eating zombies, so eventually she shows up to accompany Chika and Shito. As it turns out, the zombie is the school nurse, and she has taken Michiru’s pseudo-friend Yumi as a fourth meal. However, since Michiru eats better, it looks like Michiru will be the main course. Naturally, Chika and Shito interrupt at this point and mention that they were just using Michiru as bait. The Zombie Nurse grabs Yumi to go, and runs to the church from the first scene of Episode 1.

In the fight, the Zombie Nurse demonstrates impressive speed and power to go along with her ability to manipulate astrals (while Chika and Shito can do this, normal zombies cannot). Zombie Nurse also mentions that someone made her like this as part of a contract. In the end, Michiru ends up taking a cleaver slash to the chest while protecting Yumi. When Michiru wakes up, however, she’s fine and her ring has disappeared. Bekko recounts how Chika and Shito took on additional debt to save her life, and Michiru decides to really live her life to the fullest. This means moving out, paying the money-grubbing aunt and uncle for 3 years of living cost, giving up the overvalued house, and cutting the aunt and uncle out of the inheritance.

They’re laying the foundation for some storyline here, with mention of a mysterious foe making contracts with rogue zombies. Also interesting was Chika’s mention of the ectoplasm drain that results from constant use of the summoned weapons. Finally, it seems that Zombie Loan has a forgiving death penalty, as critical wounds only result in additional debt from gear losing durability, rather than any experience loss. Thank goodness, because farming zombies is tedious enough as it is.

I liked Michiru in this episode, as she fought the urge to be selfish and emo. Her decision to live and do the things she wanted to do in life was a strong one, and she even protected that mean girl, Yumi. I like the way Michiru looks without her glasses, and while the twintails were ok, I think the new haircut looks better.

You’re probably the first person who hasn’t labeled this episode as complete fail xD. Oh, and your fast food references never cease to amaze me. ;P

I didn’t think the episode was that bad! I liked Michiru’s determination in going homeless to prevent her relatives from getting her inheritance. It’s too bad her selflessness ended up just making her bait, and then later an indentured servant.

It would have been funnier if the nurse had gone after fat girls, but being a Peach Pit series, all the girls are rather skinny.
