Rubel mentions that Clare hasn’t been around for 3 months, and the Organization can’t believe that she could have killed an awakened Ophelia. Ermita and Galatea are called upon to make sure that Clare hasn’t 1) given birth and taken unapproved maternity leave, or 2) run off and joined a union. In reality, Clare has been taking Yoki-suppression pills to search for Lucky.
Just when Clare finds a town that Lucky passed through, she sees a team of 4 Claymores go to the nearby mountains. Only one comes back; moreover she is riddled with holes and soon dies. Clare stupidly goes to investigate the mountains, where the mysterious Riful and her lover Duff torture the two survivors. Riful’s goal is to torture powerful Claymores in order to produce powerful Awakened Ones, so when she senses weakling Clare, Riful agrees to let Duff have his way with Clare.
This was a nice set up episode, with quite a bit of unintentional comedy. Clearly loli-Riful and her man Duff are in a rather open relationship, considering that Duff is on his way to go molest Clare with his body rods. And this is after Duff got done sticking his rod in all the other Claymore girls. Oh yeah! The bishounen Clare was amusing as well, with her pathetic disguise (hair band, and a hilt-covering scabbard). Clare’s ability to chance the size of her vocal cords seems to be bait for all kinds of bad jokes.
Meanwhile, we finally get a look at the more powerful players in the series. Riful’s got an interesting plan for #9, Jean, but Clare’s come to help and she’s got Galatea on her tail. Meanwhile, this enemy actually seems to be well informed (thanks to Wikipedia), and even the scrub Yoma are using strategies now. On an unrelated note, I was pleased to see that some of the scrub members of Jean’s party had different colored sword handles.

No wonder the townspeople get attacked so much by youma who steal human faces – they can’t even distinguish between a man and a woman half the time!
This series is getting better and better and better and better. At first I thought Death Note is the best I’ve seen this year but Claymore is so much better! If it wasn’t for Raki it would be even better. LOL.
Excellent music inside the anime. 15 has some excellent background music.
Excellent drawings. Objects (like houses) are nicely detailed.
Great story. It’s different to the normal shonen like Naruto and Bleach.
And the list with names of voice actors is amazing.
I love fantasy but dark fantasy is the best!
They better make a 2nd series! Someone veto’d a 2nd series of Elfenlied and should be shot on sight

i thought this episode was spectacular and wonderful. i love claymore so much. the only thing is when clare got ilaynas(sorry i cant spell but she is also know as irene too in the anime) arm she seems to loose the power or reading yoma power now. i guess the only possible explanation is that she uses the quick sword and means she cant read the yoki anymore because of her own yoki. but i still would be good if she could do the same with both abblities. but i cant wait till after the wars of the north. i cant believe that in 15 episodes there already in the 8th book. i cant tell if their doing it too fast or if it is just right speed? or well. i love all the episodes especially the latest ones. i LOVE CLAYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
