Naturally it turns out that Kureha is evil and has imprisoned her dad in a floating turd. Yuuji is fused with some of the behemoth’s power and becomes a cheap plastic action figure with glowing LED lights (Try Me!) and karate chop action. Meanwhile, it seems that Kureha possesses the ability to manipulate gravity, thanks to the behemoth.
On the Kannagi side, Ayano tells Ren how annoying broody bishies are, so he decides to be more like Kazuma. Instead of the tired plan to sacrifice something to protect something, the Kazuma plan calls for the hero to L2Play and just own up everything in the way. Ren one-shots Yuuji again (this time with a purifying flame), and then races off to rescue Ayumi while Ayano is left as a decoy for Kureha. As Mayumi watches helplessly, Ren starts macking on Mayumi’s clone and practically proposes to her.
While Ren has some admirable qualities, it is really hard to take him seriously. After all, he just brought along his big brother to come and beat everyone up. It will be interesting to see Kazuma’s plan to beat the behemoth, since the original Chijutsushi Soushu was unable to seal the behemoth unscathed. It’s possible that the combination of years of sealing and the combined Kannagi might will be enough to defeat the behemoth, but surely some trickery will be employed.
Ayano looks weaker and weaker every episode. Even though she was told not to war with the Tsuwabuki, she just ran in and nuked all the scrubs. In other humorous news, I really enjoyed jailbait Mayumi molesting Yuuji and turning him into her love slave. It must pain Mayumi to know that she ended up with some random goon, while her imperfect loli clone bagged a gifted Kannagi main family member.

What a terribly cliche line from an anime with terribly cliche concepts. Whooooo just thought I’d make that point of view clear. I don’t know why I forgive this anime for becoming progressively worse. Even in my free time do I wonder which between watching this or doing nothing at all would be considered a worse use of time.
In all honesty, it isn’t that bad, but this series is quickly going down the shithole. By using these contrived and cliche plot devices, the director has proven to me that his idea of well developed, be it concerning plot or character, is half-baked and insultingly unintelligible.
I gotta agree with you on that one. I haven’t read the novels, so I don’t know how all this stuff might affect later episodes, but to me it feels like they could have cut all the non-Kazuma stuff out and just shortened the series length. They make Ayano weaker and dumber with every episode (her power seems on par with Ren’s), and all I really care about is hearing Kazuma’s backstory and how he intends to go forward.
A shorter series would have let them spend more budget dollars on the animation in each episode, too…
