Kaze no Stigma 03

We get a quick glimpse of some special investigators checking our the wrecked hotel, before we are treated to a flashback of Kazuma’s mom giving him a sweet Vas Gold Card so that he can charge expenses and earn free miles. Hey, can’t depend on the wind spirits for everything. Back in the present, Kazuma ventures into the Kannagi property to talk to Kannagi Juugo, the Kannagi Soushu.

Kazuma informs Juugo that Ren has been captured, and Juugo brings out his police lineup book. Juugo realizes that the Fuuka clan has rebelled, and that Ryuuya has been given some uncanny energy. Long ago, the Kannagi and Fuuka clans fought, and the Kannagi clan won by sealing away the powerful Yoma, Gehou, the source of the Fuuka clan’s power. The seal uses the Sanmai Shinka which burns all non-members of the Kannagi head family. Naturally, the Fuuka clan wants to use Ren to break the seal so that Gehou can possess Ryuuya.

Well, looks like it’s time for Kazuma to finally start working with Ayano. Juugo confirms several facts that we already know:

1. Ayano is actually pretty weak.
2. Every Kannagi clan member in the last 300 years has been an arrogant prick.

Of course Kazuma’s mad skills, fantastic confidence, and slick talk make him popular with the ladies. However, while he’s setting off flags with Ayano, it looks like Kazuma tried to go a different route before, and got the bad ending. He needs to save Ren to avoid a repeat of the situation with mystery-girl, and until then it looks like Ayano is not going to get any romantic attention.
