In a parallel to Kana’s latest drama part (about a princess finding out her prince is actually an angel), Takako has been all twisted up over her discovery of Mizuho’s maleness. Mizuho wants to at least fulfill his final duties as a male escort at the dance, but Takako isn’t sure what to do and just buries herself in her work.
At the party, everyone who dances with Mizuho tells him how much he has changed the partner’s life for the better. Takako goes all “sad girl in snow” but Maria shows up to cut through the emo. They both admit to being similar and trying to make everyone an ally/enemy but that Mizuho has always been honest with his feelings. Maria decides to attend the dance and almost confesses to Mizuho before Maria cuts in and does whatever the female equivalent of cock-blocking is to Takako. As the credits roll we see plenty of fun scenes from the rest of Mizuho’s final year at Seiou Academy, culminating with a shot of (what I think is) his graduation certificate.
This was a really nice, open ending to the series that shows just how much Mizuho has meant to all the students at the school. I’m glad Takako managed to snap out of her funk and then try to use a shotgun-wedding approach to snagging Mizuho. However, it seems that Maria won’t just give up, so maybe there will be an OVA or sequel with love triangle action. I never played the game, so I don’t know.
While the fun scenes in the ending were nice, I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen after graduation? Would Mizuho resolve to stay as a female? Would Takako ever find out that Mizuho is a member of a lival group? And how would the later classes react to finding out that their beloved Oneesama is packing? All these questions are still lingering in my mind!

It looks like ther will be a 13th episode, coming with the last DVD, which will be released on April or May.
It’s becoming an habit to air 12 episodes and keep one last episode for the DVD releases…
Michiko x Kei are a yuri couple in the game. If Mizuho keeps up his act, the kouhais will be hearing that their oneesama is following Michiko and Kei’s example with either Maria or Takako. Heheh.
And with that, a show that could have been Strawberry Panic “done right” ended. Well, almost… since we haven’t seen the last, LAST episode yet…
