It’s summer time, and that means swim suits. Unfortunately, Mizuho can’t wear the regulation swimsuit or his schlong will hang out (I’m making some assumptions here). To avoid embarrassment and further Hinano weiner jokes, Mizuho agrees to pretend he is having his period, in order to get out of swimming lessons. However, Takako doesn’t buy the excuse and instead believes that Mizuho can’t swim. Maria counters with a bizarre story that is supposed to explain that Mizuho has a phobia about swimming, due to some childhood trauma.
Somehow this argument turns into a fierce competition between Takako and Maria. Both of them train hard, even though the argument is really silly. At one point, Takako is so exhausted from training that she falls asleep in Mizuho’s lap. The final battle ends up being a big event (thanks to Kei), but the winner is never shown. Instead, Takako gets a nice picture of Mizuho in some shallow water at the beach, supposedly trying to get over that swimming phobia.
This was a rather sloppy and nonsensical episode, even if some important details were revealed. It seems that since Mizuho used his mother’s surname, Takako hasn’t realized that Mizuho’s family is at the head of the Kaguragi Group, the rival of her grandfather’s Itsukushima Group. They worked in more time for Kei, who reminds me of that weird girl in Fruits Basket (Hana?), but Kimie was super annoying. Thankfully Mizuho told her to STFU, but there were several points that Kimie was really grating on my nerves.
Now for the real question: what is the deal with Mizuho’s fake boobs. They looked like real boobs, and there was no crotch bulge. However, Ichiko easily saw that Mizuho was a guy. Maybe Mizuho tucks it under when not wearing a skirt? Still, considering how often panties are shown in this episode, I’m surprised no one else has caught a glimpse of Mizuho’s junk. Blaeerrrrrrghhh!

Sorry, had to be said. I love the way they don’t even bother to explain it. And ‘her’ figure! Good god, I know women that would kill for those proportions! How, HOW does a man have a waistline like that? I hear there is an in-game explaination of some sort, but that doesn’t really help if you’re just watching the anime. Also, ugly-chibi drowning was lolerific.
I believe I figured it out: It’s an anime.
I understand that some suspension of disbelief is called for, but at some point there will probably be some explanation of why Mizuho looks the way he does. Also, every time they talk about how beautiful Mizuho is, I think of the bottom picture in Ashley’s post =(.
