I can’t believe it, the 5,000th comment has hit! Without further ado, thanks go out to T_I for leaving the 5,000th comment! Comments 4,998-5,001 all hit pretty close together, so it was a close finish, with Chris just barely missing an unprecendented second win.
Now that this tradition has carried on long enough to have its own category, I almost feel like I don’t need to reiterate the rules… but what the heck: Leave a comment with a character and pose/situation and I’ll do my best to work something up with my meager drawing skills. Standard turnaround time is 1.5 months (possibly more this time, since it’s near the holiday season and I may be out of town around Christmas), and I think from now on after a week, the gift art request goes out to the public if the winner doesn’t respond.

On the convention circuit, I used to buy little pencil sketch commissions of Yomi (usually for $2 to $5). It was before or right after the ADV release. Artists would do their best rendering from the available imagery, and always come with hilariously wrong interpretations of the character. You wouldn’t believe it. I had no idea that the projection in the mind of the artist was so important.
