Saito is all angsty, as any good shounen hero should be, so Louise has no choice but to leave with Ward. She agrees to marry Ward, and leaves on an airship for the floating continent of Albion. Louise completes her mission of offering Crown Prince Wales Tudor political amnesty, but he declines, saying he must protect his country from the shadowy forces causing the civil war.

At this point, Ward decides to make his move. After Ward molests Louise, his blonde buddy turns her SEED with a funky purple ring. Ward then tries to marry Louise, but Saito busts in at the last minute (tracking her using Belldandy’s memory of the smell of the Water Ruby). Saito manages to power up and use Derflinger to absorb spells, but Ward stabs the Crown Prince and escapes with the letter that he stole while groping Louise. Louise is sad that the evil society of Reconquista won, so Saito takes advantage of her emotional vulnerability and makes out with her in the backseat of Tabitha’s ride.

Although the art was occasionally bad in this episode, the action was pimptastic. Everyone was working their mojo hard, but in the end Louise loves smooth-skinned faces. Clearly the message of the episode is that facial hair is evil. Henrietta is going to be pissed when she hears what happens.

The Saito power-up was a disappointing dash and slash, but the magic absorption totally reminded me of the Jedi Knights using lightsabers to absorb Sith lightning. Ah, the political drama!

I think my favorite part of this episode is when the church starts caving in. Ward runs out and Louise/Saito don’t follow him. Instead, they sit there dazed like “oh no! the ceiling is collapsing, what shall we do?!” At which point, Saito pushes louise into the fire…

I also like how the church falls on them and they get out safely and then Kirche says that nobody could survive that… even though Louise and Saito just did!

Honestly my comment is totally off-topic, but everytime I check sea slugs for new entries (yes, I’m one of those types that like to manually check versus using RSS feeds) the cap of the two rings always has me thinking “Wonder Twin powers, Activate!”

I have no clue why, but yes that’s just how my thought processes work nowadays ^^;;

Well, the caption on it says the same thing so I guess you’re not the only one!

The other thing it makes me think of is Captain Planet.

LOL, you know I never scroll over captions so… oops.

Captain Planet… well they do have water and wind. Now they just need earth, fire, and heart!
