Henrietta has another secret mission, and this time Saito, Louise, and Guiche have to retrieve a letter that was given to the Prince Wales of the Albion Kingdom. It seems that Henrietta is going to marry Germania royalty to form a strong political alliance, and if the public learns of the letter, the union will be broken. Of course Henrietta will provide them with an escort… Louise’s arranged-fiancee Ward, Captain of the Griffin squad.

While they are camped at the port town of La Rochelle, Ward starts coming on hard to Louise and gathering intelligence on Saito. Fuuke’s skulking about town also, and there will probably be an ambush soon. Saito and Ward have a sparring match, and though Saito has great speed and power, he cannot match Ward’s skill and magical power.

Although an interesting episode, a lot of the foreshadowing was incredibly heavy-handed. For instance:

  • Fuuke’s mysterious rescuer is so obviously Ward with a mask on. Covering up your facial hair should never be allowed to count as a disguise.
  • Louise will undoubtedly be revealed as a Void Sorceress, and this will explain why she sucks with all the other types of magic.
  • Colbert is obviously talking about loud WWII era planes, and the “dragon’s blood” is probably either fuel or some other engine liquid. Just like with the Staff of Destruction, one was found and one was lost.
  • Ward will try to marry Louise to gain political power, but Saito will power up and own Ward, proving that Saito can indeed protect Louise. When dealing with shounen swordsmen, do not trust the scouting report!
  • That water ring is probably some sort of radio to Henrietta that will reveal Ward’s treachery and disturbing lolicon fetish.
  • We will get a flashback about Derflinger’s Gandalfr partner from 6,000 years ago… also known as the Enpatsu Shakugan no Uchite.
  • There will be a large battle with lots of flying and new powerful abilities, just like in Mai Otome.

Now the only question left is: when are we going to meet Louise’s hot sisters?!

That’s quite a foreshadowing list you’ve got there.

Episode 11 pleased me a great deal, but also made me laugh in a b-movie sort of way. We’ll see what you have to say about it ;)
