Off in the land of Natunk, we see some slavers ambushed by a group of rebels. The rebels are called the Karurauwaturei, and their leader is a brash young man named Derihourai. Derihourai frees the Kenams, but he is just a pawn in a complex scheme to lure Karura back to the country.
When Kurou reports that the rebels are running low on supplies, Hakuoro empathizes but cannot plunge Tusukuru back into war. That night, Karura offers all of herself for some aid for the rebels, and this means hot sexxor, too. Hakuoro is taken aback, and at that moment Eruru finds the two in a compromising situation. In spite of the drama that ensues, Karura simply kidnaps Hakuoro and rounds up the rest of her girlfriends to go beat the crap out of the soldiers oppressing the rebels.
She’s just in time, as the rebels were betrayed by a man named Tamau. The ambush is foiled, and Karura teaches Derihourai some humility. Of course this group of charity mercenaries want to help the Giryagina. While old man Katumau recognizes Karura, no one else puts together that Karura is actually Karurawaturei.
Hakuoro just can’t live a peaceful life! The drama in the palace was inevitable, as Eruru and Karura are this close to starting a new cold war. Note the seating arrangement at Hakuoro’s table; Eruru and Karura are at the opposite ends of the table, although Eruru has managed to enlist Touka’s aid to flank Hakuoro. Truly the saddest part of the arrangment is how Kurou is flanked by Benawi and Aruru. Also sad is how Hakuoro tells Eruru that she is precious to him… as in a precious family member!
It’s good to learn more about Karura, as more of her, um character is revealed. However, even the potential angst cannot stop her from owning hard, and the girl is clearly willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

Karura just owns at everything that she does – from bashing peons to (almost)bedding emperors. She certainly anted up the stakes within the harem by going so far as to give herself to him. I still can’t tell if she’s just flirting/getting some action or if she’s actually fallen for Hakuoro romantically.

Hell, yes. I enjoyed this Natunk arc. The Karura sex-attack was unexpected, and VERY hawt. Made me blush a little(!) in front of the tv :/
This “simpleton” and VERY otaku-ish anime…lovin’ it.
As usual, kudos to Cephas for the hilarious Eruruu “DENIED!” series. This Eruruu whipping is TRUE psychological sadomasochism..
I hated this struggle because Eruru and Karura are my two favorite characters, although it was nice that they both got some good screentime. Can’t they just have a threesome…or something…

In spite of all the “family” comments that Eruru has had to endure, I wouldn’t count her out just yet. That girl can play some serious mind games. But what would Eruru have done if on the carriage Hakuoro said, “Don’t misunderstand… she wasn’t even that good.”
BTW, it was pretty hilarious seeing who got left behind. Man, Benawi is seriously going to go postal one day from his stressful bureaucratic job…
I want to see more Karura beat ass and get naked. That’d make me happy. *thinks* Yup, it would. Anyways…
I also think that if Eruru did anything slutty or permiscuous, there’d have to be a damn good reason for it otherwise it’d kind of ruin her character. Even though its cliche, but if she was controlled or drank a potion or something, that’d be cool. But if she goes crazy and starts getting all flirty, she just wouldn’t be the awesome, loyal, loving Eruru that she is.
