We start off with some flashbacks of Iggy always having to cover for Real, and hearing that she is his raison d’etre. Iggy is pissed that Real would just cast him aside, and feels that if only Proxies didn’t exist, he’d still be Real’s favorite hairdresser. Iggy’s been infected since the attack at the clinic, and is indignant that Real didn’t even notice. In the snow, Iggy spots the Autoreiv girl from before, and hands over the dead Bum Proxy to her. We find that Bum Proxy was involved with a contraption similar to the production tubes in Romdeau. When Iggy remarks that he can get Real back by killing the one who stole her (Vincent), the Autoreiv girl hypothesizes that maybe she can get her Bum back by killing Real.
While Iggy is angsting, Vincent is totally getting his hands all over Real’s hair. Iggy puts Real in the glass container and straddles her, but she plays some fem mind games with him and lets him know he can’t go back to Romdeau. Things get worse when Vincent owns Iggy hard with some shunpo, and then the Autoreiv girl corners Real, leading to more straddling action. Both Vincent and Iggy leap to Real’s protection, but the Autoreiv detonates and Iggy is blown up. At the funeral, Real vows to one day understand Iggy’s soul, and Vincent gives her the gun back because it’s not like she’s fast enough to shoot him anyway.
The jealousy over hair was just insane this episode! Ergo Proxy with those beautiful flowing locks getting his dirty claw hands in the beautiful hair of Real; well it’s no wonder that Iggy is so mad at that little strumpet! I think most hairdressers think that if you go to other hairdressers, that pretty much makes you a whore. Of course Real is not one to let anyone talk to her like that, so Iggy ends up getting a shotgun slug in the face =(. In spite of the sadness, it was very interesting watching Iggy’s very childish emotions develop, and see him struggle with angst. Life can be so cruel when you are angsty and you still don’t have a harem.
Pino was freaking awesome this time, telling everyone to sod off while she was reading her book. And those horrible mushrooms! Even the bunny suit made a return. It’s like all the things that Pino fans wanted were granted. Also amusing was how Real got that look of shock after feeling how much her bottom had grown. Real has some major mojo going on (she keeps attracting all these weirdos who want to straddle her), but unfortunately her heart belongs to that creepy Daedalus.

That’s the Real Fanservice Festival for y’all! I was a bit with a “?” face watching this scene…Real patting her own cute ass in search of the anti-Proxy Gun…isn’t she pretty? Go Vinsu Go – get it while it’s HOT!
Soo true. Thats’ exactly my situation around here. I have to stop watching Ergo Proxy on weekends, go to the beach and try to get myself a decent harem. A dorky mask would help, I believe, seem to be sexually irresistible these days.To be an emperor would help too (^_^;)
I have to disagree on this one…seems she’s flying ALL AROUND THE WORLD to find those weirdos. Then she attracts those poor creatures with simple low-level sexual tactics (i.e. showing some -strangely oversized- boobs&butt…).Then she goes all snobby – treating them like dirt. Another ORDINARYE girl.
OTL…yeah seems that to be creepy and hardo-gay-looking pays off in the end./me weeps quietly (T_T).
Pino has become quite the autopimp. Nonetheless, I have no doubt if she lost Vince, she’d turn either into a killer loli or reveals her T-1000 innards.
Daedalus hardo-gay? I don’t know much about hardo gay but I believe he’s rather the S&M leather type of gay as seen in Police Academy. I still have some hope that Daedalus is actually female. Or does he wear that lovely genital patch to hide his boner?
I don’t really care about Real’s metamorphosis but despite the seemingly high budget, the animators seem to have major trouble with drawing the main characters consistently. That was actually the trademark of another show too.
I’m open to the possibility Daedalus is the father (and/or mother?) of both Real and Vincent.
So, why did the virus make Iggy stupid, but Pino brilliant? Is it all about the hair?
A_Traveler, it’s not that hard to figure out, is it? Obviously, Iggy looked into a mirror after he got infected. That was also the real reason why he wanted to kill Vince. Vince has such a lovely dorky mask, you know?
I believe, it was not clear whether Iggy actually had one ego or two. It’s also possible that the kind part that showed up was just the rest of Real’s program that hadn’t been taken over by the virus yet. Or maybe he was just as worm infested as Joe Average’s PC today. We know Real was inable to deinstall his spyware and I have some doubts in her abilities to write secure Autoreiv software. I wonder what language she used anyway.

Watched the [Shinsen] version, and was wondering why they included the Snow White footnote at the end of the episode. Did I miss a Snow White reference during Ep13?
..) Why on good green Gaia did the autoreiv have a self-destruct mechanism?!?! Short of military autoreivs, I can’t really think of a reason why companion/entourage autoreivs will have a self-destruct mode…
