Hachi notes how kind Yasu is towards Nana, and suspects that Yasu has feelings for Nana. Nana claims that Yasu is like that towards everyone, and then distracts Hachi with some shopping. While they’re browsing, Nana notes that her roommate is friendly and obedient, but requires a lot of attention; hence, Nana calls her “Hachiko”. Then they get lucky and find some cheap old furniture and appliances from hot store owner, Mizukoshi. Hachi is even lucky enough to score a job!

On their way home, Hachi drags Nana along to buy this sweet new CD. Turns out it’s Trapnest’s CD, and Hachi is a member of the fanclub. Her favorite is bassist Takumi, but Nana only has eyes for “scary face” Ren. We get some flashbacks, and when Hachi goes on an awesome date to Jackson Hole, Nana sneaks into Hachi’s room and checks out the CD. Sadly, when Hachi denies Shouji’s advances to rush home with a steaming hot Jackson Burger, she finds Nana asleep and listening to the Trapnest CD. Hachi then speculates that Nana is like a wounded stray cat, wild and proud.

While I have to wonder how far Hachi has gotten through life with her flirtiness and looks, she seems so innocent that it’s hard to hold it against her. It was also rather painful watching her dodge the insatiable sexual drive that Shouji possesses, all for the goal of delivering a hot, tasty Jackson Burger. The girl has dedication!

Nana’s flashback was full of emo love, and I’m sure Ren was disappointed to find that his head was too big to get that lock necklace off. Also, I wonder if it’s called the “Jackson Burger” because they have the metric system there.
