Saber and Rin take turns training Shirou, but while Shirou is unsuccessfully trying to reinforce lamps, Rin discovers his stash of metalled out junk. Normal magic follows the rules established in Full Metal Alchemist, but Shirou appears to be breaking those rules! Unfortunately, leaving Shirou unsupervised is like giving free reign of the house to a puppy that hasn’t been housebroken; sure enough, Shinji calls Shirou to come to the school alone for a special secret and Shirou completely falls for it. Unbelievable…
As anyone else would have guessed, it is indeed a trap. Rider activates the Blood Fort and Shinji throws up a forcefield. However, Shinji is such a wuss that Shirou almost overpowers him. When Rider tries to kill Shirou, she finds that she can no longer wound him very deeply with her knitting needles, and so kicks him out the window. Shirou wisely calls Saber with a command mark, and they come close to beating the snot out of Shinji. However, Rider has a badass Noble Phantasm, and she is able to retreat with her master. Shirou has a flashback about how Kiritsugu’s love of life saved him, and then he apologizes to Saber for trying to solo everything. From now on, they’ll fight together.
Aside from Shirou’s mind-numbing stupidity, there was a lot of good stuff in this episode. Shirou is a big mystery, what with his impenetrable collar bone and his ability to break the FMA rules. What was going on with the white wings during the Rider Noble Phantasm scene, though? Were they Saber’s wings protecting Shirou? Or were they Rider’s wings allowing her and Shinji to escape?
I liked how Shinji was willing to face death in order to remain in control of kinky big-boobed Rider. I guess he isn’t a total wuss after all.

They belong to Rider’s Noble Phantasm. It was supposed to be a clue to her real identity.
The screenshot in the middle shows what happens if you forget your tampon during karate training.

Rider. Horse. Wings. Pegasus. Covered eyes. There’s only one figure in Greek mythology that’s female, associated with Pegasus, and has a reason to cover her eyes.
