Mutikapa owns a nearby village, so Hakuoro and some villagers go to rebuild the altar. Unfortunately, Mutikapa is not appeased; Tusukuru then reveals that only a loli like Aruru can appease Mutikapa. Just then, Mutikapa attacks and starts eating some Kentucky Fried Villager before Hakuoro can stop her. Mutikapa is about to move on to the next course, but fortunately it starts raining, and she runs away.
Hakuoro deduces that the rain makes Mutikapa’s fur brittle, and so they lay out a plan to trap Mutikapa in a child’s inflatable pool. Eruru is not happy that Hakuoro will be the bait, but he tells her that Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind. In spite of the unwise body pull, everything goes well (thanks to Teoru and a tessen that Tusukuru gave Hakuoro). Hakuoro finishes off Mutikapa and becomes a village hero, Tusukuru gives Hakuoro his name (also the name of Eruru and Aruru’s father), and Aruru declares that Hakuoro can be her Daddy after he lets her keep Mutikapa’s cub.
Another strong, but simple episode, this time we get to see what a good leader Hakuoro is. His ability to turn fear into male bonding is impressive, and everyone is ready to call him Daddy. It’s like that mask gives +25 to charisma or something. I truly enjoyed the Mutikapa pull scene, especially when they tried to root her.
Aruru was super cute in this episode, especially in the insanely moé snuggling scene. I also liked how she tried to convince Eruru that she was pregnant… By the way, did anyone else find this patting scene somewhat disturbing?

My favorite part:
Teoru-san: “I don’t want any more children to get eaten.”
Villagers: “He has a point.”
YOU THINK?
And I couldn’t help but start humming the Benny Hill theme during the Mutikapa chase scene. The look on Teoru-san’s face was priceless.
Great episode, though. “Pregnant” Aruru FTW.
Let me try this… Uta-ware-ru-mono. Yes! I did it! I can spell the name of the show on my own now! Hurray!
Utawarerumono is fast becoming a regular must-watch anime for me, for this season. I like it when producers do not shy away from fatalities. If nobody had told me before, I would not have known that Utawarerumono was a H-Game adaptation.
I was wondering at first on how Aruru was going to ride Mutikapa( as shown in the OP), given that Mutikapa was blood-thirsty in this episode. Now I realise that it was the baby( so erm… who’s the baby’s natural father?).
I wonder if they are going to fast-forward soon, to when Mutikapa’s baby becomes fully-grown?
Looking very much forward to the future episodes.
I tried to pronounce the title as fast as I could..
It hurts…
but yes, interesting concept, but it does get a bit to furry sometimes
>so erm… who’s the baby’s natural father?
Skane, actually the baby’s natural father was in the news a few years back.
LMFAO!! That’s bad! ..but really funny. How many episodes of this series are there total?
