Holding Out

Kabitzin on February 7, 2006 · in Random Stuff

Wow, this season’s been slow so far. I’ve even been tempted to pick up some of the more mediocre series in the blogging department, but when I look at what might be coming in spring, I can’t help but want to hold out for a few months so that I go wild next season. The only show I’m still looking forward to this season is Ergo Proxy. Anyone else feel like they’re just biding their time through this mediocre, top-heavy winter season?

You know what this feels like? In sports when you know that next season a ton of great players will be free agents so you hold off on trying to sign mediocre upgrades, and instead try to get expiring contracts. I guess I shouldn’t be complaining, since there are people out there in other countries dying every day. And by other countries, I mean Mai Otome.

…Except sports are a trap set up my the Communists for the sole purpose of foiling our plans to spread anime across the world.

Anyway, let’s see… I’m following: F/SN… REC… and Ergo Proxy. That’s it. I guess I can agree with you, then. :o

The Communist Manifesto is to blame for that typo.

I just had this same discussion on my website. And I’m really excited about the series coming out in the spring.

I’m managing to keep myself quite busy this winter season. But I’m deathly afraid of the load the spring season is going to bring. I think I counted 40+ new series on MOONPHASE (compared with roughly 20-25 this season), of which there are a multitude of big names including XxxHolic, School Rumble, and NANA. Fortunately, a good half of what I’m currently covering is ending by April. I keep my fingers crossed that everything falls on a good day so that I don’t have a lopsided schedule…

This winter season has been rather drag. The only thing I been blogging this season is Kasimasi (if anyone mentions it’s Kashimasi, look at the logo at the beginning for the correct spelling). I suppose it’s a good thing that this season is slow since I have been able to finally catchup with my backlog.

I have finished old series since there isn’t much to watch. Half of interesting shows are short ovas anyway and this season lack of show what you “have to” watch. Next season with Nana and Aria second season definitely have that.

I kind of prefer the slow season myself. School/life has been pretty busy this year and I can only manage to watch (and especially) blog so much anime in the short amount of time I’m allowed to relax. I’m afraid that if an anime season gets too loaded with great series, I won’t be able to blog OR watch. And that makes my panties sad because I really want to be able to update regularly as well as just enjoy the season.

Because I don’t want too much on my plate and I want time to enjoy everything…? It saddens the laciness to think about not being able to do that.
