Shirou wants Saber to stay put at home while he’s at school, but he doesn’t want her become a hikikomori. He introduces Saber to Taiga and Sakura; at first they are concerned about Shirou living alone with Saber, but Saber is able to own both of them (besting Taiga in combat and coming this close to calling Sakura a fat cow). Saber, however, is not convinced that it’s a good idea for others to know about her.

Meanwhile, Archer’s been trying to peep on archery team captain, Mitsuzuri Ayako all day, and when she doesn’t show up for school he won’t stop bugging Rin until she investigates what happened. The duo takes down some grunts, but the tough Servant gets away. Afterwards, Archer asks what Rin would do if that noob Shirou showed up unprepared, and Rin says she’d kill him. Lo and behold, the next day Shirou shows up unprepared and unprotected, and Rin has no choice but to try and hex him. Meanwhile, a mysterious S&M Servant smirks outside.

Quite a lot’s going on underneath the surface, and unless Issei has suddenly contracted mono, you can be sure that some Servant’s trying to eat his soul. Meanwhile, as intimidating as Rin’s Tron arm was, the tension just wasn’t there between Rin and Shirou. Heck, Archer was too busy trying to look up Rin’s skirt to even help eliminate another Master. You can be sure they’re going to all end up working together to beat up S&M Servant next episode.

Shirou, it’s tough love. Rin just wants to make sure you always bring/use protection.

It definitely needed to happen. Cheaters never win!

This is a bad, bad omen for FSN. Perfect opportunity for some fanservice, and they didn’t do it. This lack of fanservice is becoming as big of a disappointment as Ten Ten.

Which proves once more that it’s impossible to please everybody, because I’m sure that IF Rin had been flashing her panties during her jump, some prudes would have complained about it too ;)

Personally, I wouldn’t have minded. But I guess this means that the creators have decided to give F/sn a very serious touch in this aspect.

Well, that scene with Shirou and Rin definitely wasn’t all that serious. :D I think it’s a very timely and well-planned break from all that seriousness and blood in the first four episodes, including the interaction between Saber, Taiga & Sakura.

Why would prudes be watching an anime based off an ero-game in the first place?

The usual reaction I’d expect would be “Whaaaaat? This is from a H-Game?? Figures! *rant rant*” ;)

Anyway, I do agree with you that a BIT of fanservice would have helped rather than hindered here.
