The creepy little girl introduces herself as Ilya (thankfully short for Ilyasviel von Einzbern), and Rin seems to recognize the surname. Her servant, Berserker, was once the powerful Heracles, and with their weakened servants, Rin and Shirou are no match for Berserker’s fury. Saber gets beat up badly, and her eyes turn red, but before she can retaliate, Shirou pushes her out of the way and takes a nasty hit in her stead. Ilya can’t believe what a noob Shirou is, and so leaves after promising to kill Rin next time.
Fortunately, Shirou is totally haxxoring, and is able to tap into Saber’s natural auto-regen ability. Rin carries him home and makes him some breakfast, but as she’s heading home, she’s spotted by Sakura (whose impressive nose detects the smell of blood). Shirou and Saber have a talk about how she’s going to gather enough mana to regain her old powers, and they both agree not to eat the souls of the innocent. Then Saber tells him not to try to tank again, or he’ll be pissing blood for a week.
The slow pacing continues, although we get a little more character development and some more mystery. Who was that weird purple-haired girl spying on everyone with a crystal ball (perhaps the “Caster” that Rin mentioned in the first episode)? And why the heck wouldn’t Ilya finish Shirou and Rin when she had a chance? Clearly Ilya suffers from the same bad judgment that many antagonists exhibit when given a chance to finish the hero.
I like how everyone is all like “OMGWTFLEEROYJENKINS” when Shirou runs in and tries to tank. I am curious as to where Saber got those nice clothes, too.

Which begs the question…does she wear the same thing all the time? There’s got to be a laundry day for getting rid of those unseemingly bloodstains.

I should not comment anymore ’cause I’ve read tons and tons of spoilers about F/sn, but if I remember well, these clothes Saber wears, are borrowed from Rin.
I don’t have a clue about this Heracles eye…but it makes him very “HASTA LA VISTA – BABY” (^_^;)
Gawd, I feel uncomfortable after reading all about the story, I was a complete ass.
Hey! how come Herc’s a mindless berserker? In the stories he wasn’t the brightest bulb but you could at least have a conversation with him, heck this guy had enough thought process to change the course of a river to clean out a dirty horse stable, and here he is as a Hulk ripoff? I’m also peeved that he’s not wearing the Nemean lion cloak or missing his middle finger. >:)
Wonder if any Norse gods are gonna be Servants too?

Ilya: I think you should grunt more.
Heracles: What? Why would I do that? I want people to know that a muscular man can have brains, too.
Ilya: And wield this big ole rock instead of a sword.
Heracles: Rock?! OMGWTF, you’re crazy.
Ilya: Crazy like a fox [uses command mark]
Heracles: RARRRRGGGGHHHHHH [picks up big ole rock].
Ilya: Gaijin Smash.
LOL, Kabitzin. At least Ilya went for the Grunt look rather than a Barbie Heracles, complete with hair ribbons!
And Saber’s clothes from Rin. So did Rin help Saber to change and get cleaned up!? I want to see that!!!
