Shakugan no Shana 13

It turns out the flower Shana hit is a Rinne called a Pinion, and now she’s trapped. Sorath tries out the Nietono no Shana by cutting down her shirt, but there’s nothing to see so they decide to put an end to the fight. Just when things look hopeless, however, Shana calls forth her fiery power and summons her flame sword without the aid of the katana. Shana blasts Sorath with his own sword, grabs her own katana, shishkabobs Tiriel with the Blutsauger, and then roasts them with a fiery cyclone. Although Tiriel repairs Sorath’s wounds, she doesn’t have much power left, and is reduced to 60% opacity.

The reason for Tiriel’s power shortage is that Marjorie and Yuuji have teamed up to destroy the Pinions. Yuuji is able to sense their location before they sprout, which is unusual. Sydonai tries to stop them, and is able to take out Marjorie pretty easily. Fortunately, she used some Flame Haze kawarimi no jutsu, and when her toadies come to check up on her, she’s really touched. She realizes she can fight to protect, not just for vengeance, and then it’s time for furry mode! Marjorie beats the crap out of Sydonai, and he’s forced to retreat. The battle then ends as Shana owns the Aizen twins. All that’s left is for Yuuji to collect his prize (melon bread orz), and Shana to go back to cat-fighting with Kazumi.

This was a pretty good episode, both in terms of action and story; still I’m glad we’re done with that crappy yellow Fuzetsu. Shana showed some powering up, as before she had to use the sword for everything but now she can summon her flame powers easily. However, I liked the Marjorie screen time most of all, since I like her character best so far. There was a little angst and despair, but she and Marco make a great team. Also, I’m really warming up to Marjorie’s furry mode =). On the other end of the spectrum, Sorath totally sucks, and doesn’t even notice when Tiriel is suffering. Guess all that making out was for nothing.

I like how Yuuji remarked that Marco doesn’t seem to get the same treatment that Alastor does. Also great was how Marco was mad that Marjorie didn’t have a cool incantation for all her spells.

You have Tiriel and Sorath’s names mixed up.

Arrrrg, you’re right. Thanks for pointing this out, I think I fixed it. It’s cause they’re twins, I tell you! Paternal yes, but still twins!

At least I probably won’t have to worry about mixing them up again T__T.

On a different note, what’s wrong with the Blutsauger? It came out on top every single time. And Marjorie is totally hoarding the drops from all the battles. Need before greed! Or at least lot for the loot, jeez.

The catfight at the end was the best part of the entire episode.

Well, Yuuji took the Azur (flame resistance +99) and has the Midnight Stray (recovers 100% of MP per turn. unremovable)

Personally, I thought the twins were channelling Rozen Maiden. Girlish twin makes plants grow. Boyish twin cuts things apart. Hmm..

I wonder however, if Marco will continue his naming trend and refer to next week’s special guest as “perverted maid”

Yeah, Shana doesn’t need the Blutsauger, and Yuuji isn’t leet enough to use a sword that cool yet.

This will give Marjorie some more attack variety, instead of just MARJORIE SMASH!

I suppose it’s sorta fair because now Marjorie has her own battle planning center, book surfboard, furry form, uber melee weapon, and henchmen. Meanwhile, Shana has flame wings, a portable battery Torch, an anti-Flame ring, and possibly the best sword. And instant hair coloring and contacts.

Marjorie Smash is an awesome attack, as are the flying bear clones and the mouth beam of doom. I love watching that bear thing leap in the air all graceful-like.

Shana has the leather jacket of infinite item space.. No self respecting RPG heroine would be caught without one.

Hmm…I wonder if Yuji’s going to have a hand on that Blutsauger. He does seem to have a unwilling affinity with Tomogara, anyway.

Nice episode! The battle between Kazumi and Shana just heated up the love war between them. Yuji shines once again, deciding to do as much as he could to help Shana and finally knowing his place that he might just be in the way if he stayed with Shana when she fought the twin-cesting twins. I feel sad for Tiriel, though…Sacrificing her life for the love of a brother who was only hell-bent on Nietono no Shana. May she rest in peace, forever remembered for her incestual acts and devoted love…
