At the shrine, Suzuka decides it’s a good time to finally have a complete flashback about what happened to Tsuda. On that day we see Suzuka excitedly talking about Tsuda as her older sister realizes that Suzuka has the hots for the rocket starter. Naturally Suzuka denies these feelings, but then Miyamoto gives her the call that will rock her world; Tsuda overslept and in his eagerness to get to the tournament, he got hit by a truck in an intersection. At the funeral, Suzuka can’t feel sad or cry tears, but when she sees Tsuda’s goal written on the track and field room table, she draws a strange love-umbrella over their names and realizes she wanted to accept Tsuda’s feelings.
Back in the present, Honoka finds Suzuka, and they both put on a nice act at first. Eventually, however, Honoka realizes that Suzuka is upset at Yamato and urges Suzuka to go to Yamato. This leads to an almost-cat-fight as Suzuka yells about having your love pass away and Honoka yells about having your love stolen away. Just as Suzuka takes off again, Yamato arrives, and Honoka is nice enough to point him in the right direction. He catches up to Suzuka as the rain starts, and she yells at him for being so nice and causing her to sorta fall for him. Literally. When he helps her up and boldly kisses her, however, he gets the hundred hand slap to the face and is left in despair.
Wow, what a powerful episode. I especially liked the part where Suzuka can’t feel sad at the funeral and assumes she is a cold-hearted person. The flashback really helps explain why Suzuka is so mixed up, and yet it was great to hear Honoka let Suzuka have it for all those weird mind games. This rage fuels Suzuka’s limit break, and in an odd way I enjoyed watching Yamato get slapped silly.
Meanwhile, where the heck is Miki? How does sucking on a popsicle count as helping to find Suzuka? It’s a good thing Suzuka ran away when she did, cause I think Honoka was this close to unleashing a 99-hit combo on Suzuka.

man…this was a very good episode. as they say ”u can neva move 4ward if u live in da past”. suzuka is a great example of this saying since she cant forget a guy who she liked that died 2 years ago… yamato must really like her to go through all that emotional and physical pain (all da mind games and even getting pimp-slapped about 10 times!!) the finale looks like suzuka takes yamato to tsuda’s grave and maybe even hook up. lookin forward to the next episode!
by da way, does any1 else think that tsuda looks like shinn(gsd)?probably y i dont like him.
Yamato was actually slapped six times. I already say it in my blog but Honoka really put it to Suzuka as she was hitting the right buttons on her.
who doesnt like seeing Yamato being slapped though? he’s just such a frigging idiot half the time anyway.
though i’ll admit those slaps at the end were damned evil.
I was impressed that he went for it at the end, but there was no way Suzuka was gonna just take that kiss and not retaliate. This love don’t come easy!
That catfight was so close to happening, you could cut the tension with a knife.
I thought we HAD our catfight ^_^
Somehow it’s difficult for me to imagine Honoka exchanging blows with anybody else. What she did and said was about as close to having her slap somebody as it will ever get. And boy, our ice queen sure needed it.
Honoka (in miko dress): Asahina Suzuka, 500 maki!
Too bad Suzuka didn’t spin-fire kick Yamato… she only 100-hand slapped ‘im
Great episode though!
