Check out this article from Asahi about the top 10 Japanese buzz words and phrases, announced at the annual Ryuko-go Taisho awards, hosted by almanac publisher Jiyukokuminsha. The article starts out pretty boring, but ramps up towards the end with mentions of Hard Gay, Ric Flair, blogs, and moe. Definitely worth a read, even if you have to slog past the first few paragraphs.

There’s this huge joke about Hard Gay… I think there’s some famous video of this really stupid guy in a Hard Gay shirt or something like that, and he went “FOOOOOOOOOOO” in it and that’s why you get the two together in Japanese online jokes,… I wish I did know more about it…
..never mind, I hadnt got to that part of the article. o.o; Razor Ramon HG! Only in Japan.
