Fate’s having a good day and gets a new cell phone from Lindy. She then gets first dibs when Signum is spotted attacking the worms that Vita was farming last episode; unfortunately, the worms were simply not attracted to Vita’s loli-ness (as per their parole), but take an instant interest in Signum. Strangely, Fate kill-steals all the sand worms so that she can defeat Signum herself. They fight a bunch, but at the last second, Masked Man uses a hack and steals Fate’s linker core. Signum is pissed, because everyone is now stealing her kills. Also, she got molested by sand worms that shouldn’t even have appendages.
There’s also a quickie skirmish between “Takamichi Nantoka” and Vita. Vita, master of farming that she is, knows she can only get Nanoha’s linker core once, and so throws her Iron Howl flashbang and tries to run. Nanoha’s Divine Buster extension, however, nails a direct hit; fortunately, Masked Man totally haxxors and blocks the blast, allowing Vita to escape. The rest of the episode has Google Weasel Yuuno (of the Scrya Tribe) and Chrono talking with the Lieze twins about the last Book of Darkness incident 11 years ago, when Chrono’s dad, Clyde, died due to an unavoidable mistake by Admiral Graham.
This episode was silly, and some of the camera angles used were just weird. I think there is some heavy-handed hinting that Masked Man is actually Clyde, so the unmasking should be very dramatic. Will Chrono be all Negi-like in seeing his dad again (if Masked Man == Clyde), or will he be like “ZOMG, Dad why did you kick me?” There was so much kill-stealing and hacking going on that it was hard to take the battles seriously, but I felt bad for Signum. Her farming went totally awry and her cool battle scene got completely upstaged.
I was really hoping that Fate would end up with a fugly, bulky PDA-phone while Arisa, Suzuka, and Nanoha looked on with sweatdrops. And why was Amy fondling that green pumpkin that Fate was holding?

Hee…the art direction was really wonky in this episode, but Fate vs. Signum rocked, as it always does.
As for Masked dude, well…heeeeee……….
the screen shot with a sword got me. I think I have to watch this anime

Yeah…First Season is recommended before this.
Both are great.
