It’s a hot day after training, and lo and behold, Ike’s dad has hooked him up with the perfect plot device: tickets for everyone to go to Misaki Waterland. Ike tries to help Kazumi ask out Yuuji, but when that succeeds, Kazumi’s friend Ogata invites them all as a group to go to the park on Saturday. Ogata is especially interested in inviting Tanaka and Satou, but they lie and say they can’t go (since they promised to try to get Marjorie out of the house for once this weekend). Naturally, Marjorie immediately spots the waterpark and demands to go there to cool off. Let the awkwardness begin!
Naturally there is a cavalry contest that has a combination of prizes sure to please everyone. With the possibility of getting all-you-can-eat home-made bread, a dinner for two at a restaurant with a great night view, and free drinks, everyone but Ike and Marjorie enters the competition. Shana and Satou team up, as do Kazumi and Yuuji, and Ogata and Tanaka. All of them do pretty well, but Satou eventually tires, and sends Shana flying while they chase Yuuji and Kazumi. The resulting collision lands all the headbands on some Okada-sensei’s date.
While nothing more than a silly fanservice episode, the episode was pretty amusing. We have a little bit of love rivalry with Kazumi and Shana and possibly Ogata and Marjorie. Ogata is pretty sneaky, but I get this depressing Uta~Kata vibe from her. Kazumi was packing some serious, and unexpected, heat this episode, but it was so funny comparing Ike and Yuuji’s reaction to Shana with their reaction to Kazumi (“huwaaahaa…”). Even that random guy at the swimsuit store thought so. I also liked the nice first eyecatch, but the second eyecatch makes it look like Kazumi is trying to squeeze the life out of Shana using only her boobs!

It’s amazing how regular clothes doesn’t show off Kazumi’s cleveage but get her into a swimsuit, the cleveage suddenly appears. Swimsuits must increase breast size by 50% on some people.
That’s anime for ya. ^^
By the way, I don’t think its purely fanservice. It’s humor and perhaps a little character development for Shana. She’s starting to feel more and more ‘human’ by thinking about whether a day in the Waterland can be as pleasant as taking a bath. ^^
it just isn’t anime without a beach/swimsuit episode. ^^
